Bidrage med feedbackAn amazing experience. We ended up staying here impromptu having had to leave an awful Airbnb. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They made a special experience out if my partner's birthday. The meal was exceptional with choice, high quality ingredients and flavours out if...this world. Definitely recommend this.
We had some difficulty location this place as we were unaware the restaurant is within the Hotel Wilden Mann. The restaurant is in a traditional Swiss decor which was supposedly last updated in 1908. Shortly after we arrived a 17 person English tour group arrived...(pre planned) leaving a single server for the now 25 people in the restaurant. Sabrina did a remarkable job, but nonetheless our dinners were delayed. The fault was not hers, but the restaurant manager for not providing additional resources. When our meals finally arrived, the food was pretty good. Entrees start at about CHF 30. Our bill for two entrees, two glasses of wine and VAT was CHF 84.
Rustikales Restaurant wo es sich gemütlich und gut Speisen lässt. Freundliches Personal. Nationale Gerichte zum typischen Schweizer Preis.
Visit this restaurant withte to end juli while visiting lucerne. it seemed like a charming environment in a real hotel. the menu looked interesting and we were visited by a nice looking young man of about 22-25 years, where our effort started....Nothing happens quickly in Europe, and his approach on the table was no different, but if they were not like the tempo, they do not come to europa, I understand it. he slowly took our drink orders with some reticence, perhaps to feel that we were tourist. When I turned to the place of my meal order, I asked about two of the contributions he received as a superior court, I thought an innocent enough question. I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but both dishes are in this category. his answer was, I don't know. I eat only red meat and drink red wine with a stance. as an American I know that we are sometimes not welcome at certain places or occasions, but as a child of 2 European elders I try to act friendly and innocent and tried to do this here. this is despite the fact that this young man was younger than my children and I had done nothing to make him worse, except asking a menu question. his English was worse than my German, but I think we would have done well with mutual ease. the rest of the meal continued along a similar pattern. we asked for a burrata and received 4. did not want that o the dinge to ignite by returning. we finished our wine glasses and were never asked if we wanted another. no water was taken to the table. the food was very good for all of us despite the service, although the plant blossoms I ordered, about 2 inches measured by 6 inches. for a piece lasagne? the younger waiter disappeared to the last half of our meal. the room was in the round only our party of 4 and a larger table of about 10, the halfway through our meal. an older waiter visited us on the last part, brought a post-eating digest to which I believe we were charged, but at least he was polite and personal. I'm not sure what made this younger man behave as he did, and I didn't convey the nature of his behavior in as complete as I could, but I'll say that I never settled in a new life. if it had not been for my companions and my important others, I would have stood up and got out. they betrayed me. Pity that this young? represents the place because if he treats others as he treats us, they continue to receive negative reviews and lose business. they have to fire the waiter or at least try to retrain him. it ranks me every time I think about it because the meal was the most expensive I had during an expensive stay in the Swiss. it's a shame because the cook looks pretty good.
We wanted to find a restaurant from the old city center on the other side of the river. we often come with visitors to luzern, we live in Germany, so we always look for new restaurants to put in our rotation when we visit the city. we have not made a reservation for dinner, our fault. the man at the reception was very courteous and friendly to find us a place at a free table. we sat on a table that was available for walks. we shared the table with a German couple who was nice and had a nice talk. we visited on Saturday and the restaurant was crowded. our experience was strange from the beginning. our waiter took care of the entire dining room and was clearly an experienced profi, and yet we felt ignored for most night. we have waited 70 minutes for our meal. we were 3 and ordered 2 carvings and 1 meat leaflets. in the time when we waited for our food, a table sat behind us and finished their carvings and were on their drinks after dinner. while we were all our drink glasses (beer and wee) and water classes were empty. the waiter came by to tell us once that our food came soon, and then again a bit later to say that the kitchen said that they lost the order, but we had to order it down to water and more drinks. When our food finally arrived, it was good. the carving is thinner than hit in Germany and it was really very good, so I gave my overall rating 3 stars and not 2. my man said the meat was good, but not spectacular. at the end of the night we only got apologise for having to wait for our food for so long. I have lived in Europe for over 10 years, so I know that this is normal, but it will never be good to me that we were not offered a free drink, or a discount on the bill or a free snaps at the end of the meal; something. as said, the waiter was clearly very good at his work, so it seemed that he might not have been that he had more customers in a busy night? Maybe he just didn't like us, who knows? but it was just a strange, not great dinner. we will not come back to luzern on our next trip.
