Do not get caught in the tourist trap. This restaurant is located in the old town of Lucerne. There are many other restaurants around that has great food and worth the money. Back to overview... I assumed that this place must be very good, as there were many Asians who also eat here and look for their local food. But not the case! The food was very expensive for quality. The staff and restaurant looked very sloppy. Customer service was supervised by tourists coming in trips. We had to pay for water $2.50 per glass (not even a full bottle) and $3.00 per bowl of rice. What other restaurants do that? No one I saw here in Switzerland in my week. The food was bland and not spectacular. The atmosphere was very loud with one of the tourers next to me eating and speaking extremely loud. That was the light of my week in Switzerland.
I thought it would be a pretty decent place because it was a Chinese food place full of Asians at noon. We thought wrong. They were all part of various Asian tour groups that stop there, led by their tour guides, who need to get a setback from the restaurants. The food was best moderate, tasty and blasphemy. Ordnete salad with oyster sauce and beef noodles. 2 of the simplest Chinese dishes you can make. The salad was blande, the noodles were soggy and only no taste. Don't be stupid.
We too were scammed by the charge for tap water which they never mentioned when ordering. Brought us opened mineral water even though we very clearly stated we wanted tap water 3 x. Then she charged us $10 for two bottles. The cold, uncaring waitress argued with us when we complained and when we asked to speak to the manager she went to a table close by where a group of Asians were huddled around a table. The guy she spoke with didn 't even turn around but waived her off. After a long wait she finally came back and said she would adjust the bill. We were still charged for one of the bottles (which we never ordered). The portions of food were laughably small and way too salty. The so called salad were just two tablespoons of horrible tasting coleslaw soaked in vinegar. My wife is from mainland China and said these people were speaking Vietnamese among themselves, even though another review claimed they were Cantonese.
We went to dinner after watching many people who were happy and satisfied. We have hot tea, hot and acid soup, duck with mixed vegetables and Szechuan pork for 64 CHF. Soup was rich and spicy, clearing our sins. A spicy and not spicy dish has worked for us so that we can mix the sauces, i.e. to shorten the spices and throw it on the non spicy. The restaurant is upstairs and large. It wasn't busy and the service was fast. A nice feature was the plates on a frame with a flame underneath to keep it warm, see photo. This is instead of a cover that is done where we come from. We enjoyed it.
