Cafe-Restaurant Am Rathaus - Lübeck

First note that there are two different restaurants on the large square; the rathskeller and the restaurant at the rathaus. this review is of the latter. it was a nice evening, and eating outside was important to us. we had a beer in the large courtyard on the afternoon, checked the menu and went back to dinner in the evening. we both had snare. my was Balkan style with tomato sauce and paprika. my companion was wrinkled. together with salat and two karaffe wein we had a pleasant enough meal, although not especially in some wise eating outside was pleasant. the service was about average for this type of space.

We discussed our visit plans with our hotel concierge and he advised us not to eat in the rathaus. not only was eating mediocre, their service was not bad. they were right. the location is charming and at the time when we saw the. longing of the morning that we were hungry and I forgot what the hotel was coming. we sat down, a surly waiter tried to annoy us into a quick menu selection and then the situation became evil when I told him that his open wein was out and I asked for a replacement. the German couple behind us later said our confrontation with him was in our right, they apologised for him and thanked us for our floor. how was it eating? reheat and work for a job. Maybe it's a nice place to have a cup of coffee, but the life is too short to pay for a mediocre meal and surly service. White bar83

We only drunk coffee at the terrace but when entering the Keller (cellar, sub terrain) for the toilets, I got impressed by the museal atmosfere inside the restaurant cellar. Very private cabin like suites when you can have dinner in style, the same holds for the...larger dining rooms.
