I recommend booking in advance. Excellent Tuscan appetizers and marinated aubergines. The grilled cod, fried chicken and rabbit and horse tartare are delicious. Very friendly, helpful and professional dining room staff. Experience to be repeated.

Historic Tuscan trattoria in Lucca, a fixed stop for me when I come to the city. Typical Tuscan cuisine, of which I recommend trying the soup samples. Large place where you can feel the history of the restaurant. Countless VIPs have passed through it, especially Italian and foreign artists. A destination in particular for cartoonists, as also recalled by the plaque dedicated to Gian Luigi and Sergio Bonelli. Menu with wide choice and good price, considering the level of the restaurant.

We happened in this restaurant one evening of January, when the city was almost deserted. We immediately realized that we would eat well considering the amount of people who crowded the hall on Tuesday night. Menu full of Tuscan dishes, soups, pappardelle, famous tordelli, trippa and many delicacies at moderate prices. Friendly staff and fast service. Only new a dish that my husband had chosen in the menu and that he could not taste as they had not been doing it for a long time. It would be better to put in the menu just what you can prepare. I recommend it anyway.

Typical trattoria Lucchese, located for the summer period inside the walls for a suggestive location. the proposals embrace the tradition for a menu based on a poor cuisine but not for this of little quality. we ate the lacquer tortelli and triple, both excellent. the only regret was that it was not possible to taste the beaten calf lung as wet as exhausted. I did not give the fifth star for the simple reason that although the location is very beautiful and the quality is definitely good, I think for my way of understanding currently a dinner, there is need less tastes and much less for the voice. If this doesn't bother you, the rest is very good.
