La Taverna Del Torchio - Lu

2 stars for the view and wine. Maybe we made a mistake going for the seafood but compared to our normal experience in Elba we were both very disappointed. Couldn't even finish it and didn't feel so great after. Big shame considering the price.

In the quiet hamlet of Bodelacchi, in this Monferrato municipality, from a renovated farmhouse, they have created two rooms in a very welcoming and characteristic rustic house. Starter with a carpaccio and a flan in green sauce, very delicate but with a tasty flavour, perhaps a little little, for the spacious serving dish. The first course is homemade lasagne with green beans and fresh tomato, a natural dish with old-fashioned flavours, unpretentious, but delicious. The second course with braised meat and stewed vegetables was certainly tasty, but the meat was a little tough, I don't know if it was due to the cooking or the quality of the cut (very lean). The cardamom coffee mousse, served for dessert, a delicacy for the palate. Durum wheat bread of unique goodness. Grappino offered by the house and coffee concluded a dinner without any exciting details, but given the €20 requested, I would say it is an excellent compromise between quality and price. Barbera is light and genuine, with the flavor of real grapes, it also allows for an extra glass. Thanks Sergio. I'll be back.

Excellent dinner, the dishes are well presented and really very good, the place is really designed with attention to detail. Light background music that is barely audible. We took the €25 menu. A place absolutely to be recommended without risking making a bad impression and where I will certainly return with pleasure

Welcoming and very familiar atmosphere, typical Piedmontese dishes with excellent value for money. New for 2019, the introduction of a new menu, with a varied choice of types of ravioli combined with various sauces and the possibility of choosing the desired portion. I highly recommend the house wine, drawn directly from the Lù winery. Ps: leave room for homemade desserts
