I had read about this place on happycow, and here's my Naturewell review. While it's a tiny little shop and juice bar, it's packed with all sorts of food stuff that I like. Extensive bulk bins with all sorts of dried food plus snack food and bars, a complete juice bar, and they even offers wheatgrass and raw vegan ice cream. The staff I spoke with was friendly, and he told me that Naturewell is owned by the same people who owns Millie's restaurant (a breakfast place in the area, not veg) who also have invested in Mooi (the now defunct raw food cafe in the area). As far as I can tell, it's all vegetarian. I didn't see any meat products (correct me if I'm wrong).
Just a heads-up, this restaurant is no longer just two doors down from Flore, as Flore had to relocate a few blocks away after losing their lease. Nevertheless, Nature offers excellent fresh juices and açaí dishes. They have a variety of pre-prepared raw meals, as well as large containers filled with granola, fig cookies, and more.
I absolutely love this place! Their juices are incredible, and their smoothies are fantastic! The Chocolate Thunderbolt is hands down the best chocolate smoothie I've ever had! I highly recommend it! I also really enjoy the apple, ginger, and lemon juice from their small to-go refrigerator—it's like a refreshing ginger lemonade!
I was excited to discover Naturewell Vegan Juice Smoothies on Google, so I ventured out in the heatwave to try a vegan juice from this vegan juice bar. As I browsed the menu, I noticed they offered bee pollen and decided to ask if it was vegan. That's when things got a bit awkward for me, as it turned out that bee pollen isn't considered vegan. One of the staff members tried to defend it, but it felt like a classic "vegan gotcha" moment!
