Bidrage med feedbackOkay... o...kay. So, I've heard about Sky's Gourmet Tacos and I had mild interest in trying it out. I was even happy when a couple of people who were finishing up told me it was their first time too and they really enjoyed it. Well Theestablishment...is cute. It has this wonderful outdoorsy, chill vibe. There's a big screen menu where you place and pick yourorder. And the menu items were extremely reasonable. I ordered 2 chicken tacos and 1 canitas taco. My mom had lunch with meand she ordered the chicken Nachoes. I don't think chicken is their thing. Now, if you're looking for a taco place that isreally light handed on seasoning to where you cannot taste it, okay. You found your place. The carnitas taco was pretty goodand that probably had something to do beef naturally having more flavor. Personal opinion. But overall, I was underwhelmed bythe flavor of the food. The salsa they provided sweet and hot which was unexpected. I also ordered an Arnold Palmer, which, with the homemade lemonade was delightful and refreshing. My mom wss not a fan on her nachoes at all. She asked for pintobeans in her nachoes in her meal, they gave her black beans instead. Hmmm. Would I be going back? Um. We'll see.
I have never been in person, but have gotten their catering a couple times and they are consistently awesome. I also have never picked up the catering since I live across town about an hour away depending on traffic, so this is just for their deliveryservice. The deliveries are always right on time (actually a bit early, usually), orders are always correct, and they give youbasically everything you need for utensils and serving. The portions of toppings they give you are VERY generous, too. Lots ofsuper fresh tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, cilantro, pico, and homemade salsas. Everything is well packed and comes labeled so it'seasy to serve. I've always gotten guacamole as well and that is a must-have. I never seem to have enough. The lobster andcrawfish are my favorites, and they're a real crowd pleaser. I've tried almost all of the fillings and there wasn't a single onepeople disliked. Every time I've gotten their food, people rave about it all night and ask where it's from. If you want tosupport a Black/woman owned business, try it! If you want people to be very well fed, try it! If you're super hungry and homealone, try it, but you'll probably have leftovers for a week
Deee-licious. Great staff and service. Straight up. The shitake mushroom taco is a special flavor I've never had at any other taco spot. The steak taco, is well deserved of title of fan favorite. Best steak taco I've had in L.A. so far. I read reviewsand appreciate being given all the info and not sugar coating, so I'll add this tiny caveat, there is some grease left on thepaper, once you've finished,, but the food here is very fresh tasting, and savoury. I will def come back. The ambience is great, chill, family, or friends hang or alone, it's a good feel and satisfying food. Enjoy. (This neighborhood cat knows what's up!!
Honestly I don't work far and thought gourmet tacos where going to be really good but First I told the lady no onions, She said none of the tacos have onions. 2 of them had onions I got 1 shiitaki mushroom- Great flavor but literally maybe 1 mushroomsliced with onions. Also it was not shiitaki ???? 1 Steak- it was ok.. toppings lettuce and tomatoes cheese is extra but theydon't tell you. 1 shrimp- I completely disliked it. It was soggy covered in a overwhelming red sauce with 3 mediumshrimp. Horchata- not real horchata, it was milk with a lot of sugar. Over-rated $28 for all that!
The shrimp burrito was interesting, smothered in some kind of spicy powder? but their hibiscus tea tasted like corn syrup was positively atrocious. When I asked for a refund (it was $6.99 after all), the Latina cashier was quite snarky. To make mattersworse, the water from their communal self-serve station had a slight orangeish tint? now I feel myself becoming Sick! That?swhat I get for trying a new place? should have stayed to the tried true?.
