Bixby Golf Sushi - Long Beach

Came by last night with fam... We ordered the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Spicy Tuna Tempura, Golder Tiger, Dragon Roll, Pick Me and the BBQ Short Ribs. All i can say is that the food here is legit! All rolls were packed with flavor! The short ribs were cooked perfectly. Come by and check them out.

1st off there is free parking. it's right by the college. They have buy 1 get half off signature roll. They aren't busy at all. The place is quaint. The staff kept checking in on us. But there was many things off. I noticed the seafood in the case didn't look fresh at all, it looked like frozen fish, and the case was left cracked open instead of being enclosed. We got the rainbow roll, pick me up, Snow White roll, and wiki roll. The Fatty Tuna SU, Japanese Yellowtail SU, Salmon SU, yellowtail belly su, Mackerel SU, Red Sea Bream SU, Snow Crab Leg SU. The chef did make the sushi fast, and cut the seafood correctly, but they cut the sushi not evenly. One roll would be thicker and one would be thin. The plating does look good. But the sushi rice fell apart when picking up. The Snow White roll was thick and the cream cheese was warm, gooey, and melty. The wiki roll had the lemon too sour and I don't think should be on a roll. All the SU were not fresh at all. The yellowtail and crab leg were fishy. The tuna was slimy. We got the steamed dumpling and yellowtail sunrise. I would say the yellowtail sunrise was the only good thing we got. I would say this was the worst sushi I've had. The staff is nice but for the price of the food, it wasn't worth it.

I was craving Japanese food this was the closest place. People were nice, but when I asked if they had anything vegan, they said only the vegetable roll. It was ok, but pretty lackluster for 10 bucks. I was annoyed because it's a big menu afterwards I looked at the menu again to find they actually had some other things I definitely could have gotten. Staff definitely need some training.

The food is very delicious. The raw fish is fresh and very good. It's a menu that I would recommend ordering. Very good service staff 10/10
