Bidrage med feedbackThree of us, all vegetarian, were looking for some Mexican inspired food. The menu very clearly describes which items are vegetarian or can be made vegetarian. All 3 of us had different items; The Big One (Burrito , the Flauta and the Quesadilla. We chose the black bean, spinach mushroom filling and enjoyed different sides; rice, beans, spicy fries and mexislaw. We all loved our meals (and enjoyed tastes of each others' and were way too full for dessert. We'll look forward to our next visit to try some of the starters and desserts! The warm corn chips and homemade salsa were also very much appreciated and disappeared pretty quickly!
Although I was a little hesitant about Mexican food, I visited Under The Volcano today. Before I could order anything, my server brought me some complementary chips and salsa. These were enjoyably crunchy and seasoned with spices. I decided to get the Chimichanga for my main. It was a tortilla folded into something like a burrito. Within it, there was cheese, sour cream, chopped tomatoes, and shrimp. I savoured every bite of its cheesey goodness. I had two sides to go with my Chimichanga: rice and fries. The rice did not suit my personal taste. However, the fries were packed with great flavour. Now, the atmosphere. The interior is colourful and fun. It is decorated with Mexican culture, from paintings on the walls to plants to sombrero hats and to even a toucan ornament. When you eat here, you are immersed in a Mexican experience. Under the Volcano is an outstanding restaurant, the perfect place to bring your kids or celebrate a birthday. I made the right choice by coming here… and so should you!
Took my granddaughter for lunch on her 21st birthday, she had never been before. She loved it! Food was delicious, she had never had deep fried ice cream and absolutely loved it. Our server Michelle was wonderful. Would definitely return.
Sorry for the half done tequila sunrise, it was so good I couldn't wait. I went here with my cousin and we got the celiac chips cause she's gluten intolerant, but they where so good, teaste like regular chips. I got the chimichanga, and she got the gluten free barito. It took a half hour wait but it was really good. It wasn't too busy but maybe they where short staffed who knows
Tasty chicken fajitas. The prices are not small. The service is good. But the overall feeling is of more of a fast food place. Plastic dishes, decor falling apart. But still I recommend this place.
