The Botanist - London

This was a very disappointing meal and I am unlikely to return (after years of eating here). Three of the main course options were unavailable meaning the menu was extremely limited surprising early on a Saturday evening. The old menu with fishcakes and burger etc was much better. There was no pasta option and the risotto was strange (goats cheese not suitable for pregnancy). So overall a dreadful menu. There was no apology or offer to make it up. Food was ok, not amazing, a lot of the cold was chilled as if it was sat in a fridge rather than assembled freshly.

We arrived and very off hand guy pointed to a table. Then only one persons soup arrived and 2 people had ordered. Then a table that arrived well after us received their food before us. We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our mains . Once the food arrived it was very nice but felt the restaurant wasn’t overly busy for such a long wait.

It wasn’t that busy and yet the service started off ok and then fell away. The food was pretty average and overpriced for what it was, the moules were luke warm and 1/4 of them were closed and not that many for a main course. Definitely not rushing back there

Service and food were excellent a bit loud for my old ears, but the hustle and bustle of the place was vibrant and entertaining.

This is a lovely restaurant in great position on Sloane Square. We went for breakfast on way to Chelsea Flower Show. The food was good but the service was really slow. Had to ask three times before I got my coffee. The staff were great I just don’t think there were enough of them. Shame because everything else was good.
