Motcombs - Restaurant - London

As always a good fun time was had. Food very good and staff attentive and amusing. A great place to be!

I have been to the restaurant previously but this time really found the completely open kitchen neon lights and all which forms one end of the dining area overbearing. This time the noise from the kitchen and in particular a member of staff its always one to bring down everyone else was bad. No management appeared to be in place. Its also not particularly edifying trying to relax over dinner while someone cleans the kitchen floor in front of you. The food was nice and service fine if not a little cold. It really needs revamping and the kitchen detaching completely from what would otherwise be a charming room. Overall rather faded but charming, save for the dreadful kitchen.

This is a real neighbourhood gem. Priced very competitively for its position on Motcombe Street, the menu is varied, priced extremely keenly and changed very frequently. The food is delicious with speedy and attentive service. The wine list sports some very decent examples at a very fair price. Sunday lunch is available for two for under £30 and this too is stunningly good value and exceptionally tasty when we tried it. We are frequent but irregular diners at Motcombes and will continue to be. Its a lovely cosy place and the downstairs dining room (weekdays only) is particularly impressive.

Picked this restaurant at random from the internet as needed somewhere to meet up with friends staying near Harrods. We were not disappointed, food and staff were very good, and the prices were very reasonable. We liked the ambience of the downstairs restaurant where we ate, the staff were attentive and patient with our rather at times boisterous party. Would definitely return.

What an amazing find in the heart of upmarket belgravia outstanding variety of beautifully presented dishes , served 8 of us , no glass empty and the staff could not have been more helpful with service costs spillages! And anything . I highly recommend if you want to eat outside or inside with fluffy furs with hot chocolate to rest during manic Xmas shopping , bravo motcombs we will ALL be back.
