George's - Lockport

I'll preface this with I've been coming here since the 90s. Now that I have kids of my own, id figure we would go back to check it out. The mozzarella sticks are average and the marinara sauce is homemade using tomato chunks with no spice. It's just not what marinara is. The ranch is very plain. I wish this type of diner could make their own dressings because that is the type of stuff you look forward to in a family diner. The soup was average. The service was subpar, our server was busy but when our final guest did arrive his drink order was not taken until we requested it after she took his food order. The timing of his arrival was not ideal in between her moving of orders but that wasn't a problem at all. I think the flow of the restaurant affects the server's abilities. They're lacking a key member of staff. One person is doing host and bus. The only redeeming quality to this experience was the bowling alley next door. Nothing stood out and the cherry pie was dry and unloved by the baker. I don't go back to meh places and I love little diners so this was disappointing.

Positives: Clean restaurant, food seemed fresh (would have been better, perhaps, if order had been correct). Negatives: weird/lousy background music supplied through poor quality speakers; server 's attempt at stand-up comedy unneeded, as he got a simple order wrong in two areas. When informed of error, it was must 've hit the wrong buttons . Asked for fries with meal, got fruit. Asked for sandwich minus two ingredients, got sandwich missing THREE ingredients, one of which was cheese. Lettuce is the palest iceberg, not a healthy choice, no nutritional value. Price of meal highly unwarranted.
