Bidrage med feedbackI went to this restaurant for lunch on Thursday with 2 friends. Unfortunately, the food did not taste authentic Afghan. The combination plate we ordered for an appetizer, the Bolani, and sambosas were very oily and greasy. The Afghan Ravioli (ashak) was just okay. For the main course, we had chicken kabob, beef curry, and chicken curry (korma). Overall, I was disappointed with the food, especially considering the high prices. We ended up spending over a hundred dollars for lunch. I understand that restaurants are struggling during the pandemic, but that doesn't justify overcharging customers. The service was subpar and the bill included tips of 18%, 25%, and 30%, which was confusing. This was a disappointing experience for me and my friends, who were hoping to try authentic Afghan cuisine. I suggest the restaurant focuses on offering genuine Afghan food, improving the quality of the food, lowering prices, and providing better service.
Had takeout in person order ~15 min waiting. The mantu is delicious, it is an absolute must and comes in the appetizer or entree form, and the chicken dishes are v filling. One of the best Afghan restaurants I have ever visited, and I come from Toronto, ON, Canada, which has a strong base of amazing Afghan restaurants. Also with Afghan bread and salad.
We tried Afghan cuisine for the first time and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, not too spicy, and very intriguing. They have chicken and goat options on the menu as well. We would definitely come back to eat here again.
This Afghan restaurant in Livermore, CA is excellent. I started with the Bulanee Katchalu appetizer, which was a delicious mixture of ground lamb, potatoes, and herbs wrapped in pastry. For my main course, I had a combination of lamb and beef kabobs served with brown rice and a side of Boranee Kadu, which is smoked pumpkin with yogurt and meat sauce. The Afghan Cardamom tea was also a delightful finishing touch to the meal.
I made my own sampler from the appetizer section and couldn?t have been happier. Everything was absolutely fresh and sitting out on the patio on a beautiful sunny day, it really was an ideal afternoon; interestingly enough, today was the first day of fall and it felt like summer still! The mantu here had more vegetable variety than any other place I tried and the sambosa what is evidently just made so it was perfectly hot and crisp! I forget the name of the eggplant medallions but they too were delicious. Totally fair prices for the quality and ambience! Downtown Livermore is a pleasant stroll as well! Please come support this local restaurant and enjoy the surroundings!
