Bidrage med feedbackWhat a magnificent experience! Our meal here was a true highlight of our two weeks in Portugal. We walked by early on a Friday evening and asked about making a reservation in the outdoor patio area. Most tables were already spoken for just two small tables left without reservations. You know when they're all taken as each reserved table will have a small framed piece of artwork with the name for the reservation written on the glass. We came back at our allotted time and found our name marking the spot. A group of 4 is a great number to come with as courses are brought one at a time and portioned for sharing among the group. This worked so well for us as we got to taste multiple things and everything was delicious. At first you are served marinated tomatoes with bread complimentary, no extra charge. For our main courses we tried the sesame tuna, octopus with black rice, homemade pasta with cream and truffle, and duck with Jerusalem artichoke chips. Each course was better than the last until we got to the duck which was excellent but not as much of a superstar as the others. The biggest standout for me was the octopus, which was presented in two ways, as large battered pieces that were very tender on the edge of the dish, and then smaller pieces of octopus mixed into the rice, which had a citrusy tang to it and was just so rich and satisfying. The service was outstanding, with everything appearing just as we needed it or had questions. At the end it was hard to resist trying some dessert as the mains had been fairly unique and really tasty we got a trip of sorbets and the fried cream which sounded like something different and was also very good and added to the experience! Highly recommend worth making a reservation.
Well this is tied for the best resultant experience in 10 days of Portugal. Service was good and the food was amazing. Burrata cheese with tomatoes and avacado is soft rich and fresh. The tuna was creative and perfect. It was lightly cooked and served i a wonderful sauce that was based on soy sauce and sesame seeds with small bits of broccoli and a few mild chilies. The texture of the tuna was tender and the salty souse pulled the dish together. Last we shared chocolate cake and a dulce de leche type ice cream. Oh yeah lovely outside seating in Lisbon too
First 5* in a very long time. Excellent food, lovely ambiance (art work interesting and if you reserve there a piece if art with your name on the card placard on your table) and service perfect that's saying a lot these days! They have at least 100 types of gin which they let you choose/smell. Fabulous drinks! Every dish a winner! Outside seating too. Favorite Lisboa place.
Ja andava com vontade de experimentar a taberna moderna a algum tempo. O espaço esta muito bem decorado, sem coisas a mais nem a menos. O atendimento e cuidado, atento e sempre pronto a esclarecer alguma duvida. Depois temos os pequenos apontamentos que fazem a diferença como por exemplo a placa com o nosso nome na mesa à chegada. Quanto à comida, impecavel. O couvert e simples paozinho quente com azeite e balsâmico) mas bom. Pedimos uma salada de vieiras que estava 5 estrelas talvez mesmo o melhor prato), uns ovos rotos e pena mas nao houve tempo para foto) com gulas enguias pequenas), um arroz de choco a fazer lembrar uma paella negra por via da tinta) que estava no ponto, cheio de sabor e tendo em conta a tinta, nao e facil acertar). Para finalizar uma 'leche frita ' uma sobremesa a base de leite panado, deep fried) com gelado. Destaque para os gins feitos com mestria e com uma carta bem completa. Nota menos boa para o preço que em alguns pontos parece-me exagerado podera ser defeito da zona mais turistica onde se encontra). No geral daria 4,5 mas arredonda para cima pq de facto a qualidade da comida estava mesmo muito boa.
A Taberna Moderna é um clássico que nunca passa de moda. Situado na Rua dos Bacalhoeiros, com estacionamento pago muito próximo para deixar o carro e uma esplanada ideal para aproveitar uma noite quente. O menu é composto por tapas e petiscos para partilhar, cada um melhor que o anterior.
