A Camponesa - Lisboa

We were really excited to try this hyped restaurant that we had read about. However, our experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, the waiter read the entire menu to us, which was difficult to follow due to the loud environment and the fast pace at which he was speaking. The service appeared disorganized, and we were even served the same starter twice. When we informed the staff that we had already had starters, they brought us the dessert menu before we had even received our main courses. The food was mediocre at best; of all the restaurants we visited, this was our least favorite. The beetroot salad lacked flavor, and the portions were quite small. The wine was really good, though. Overall, we do not recommend this restaurant.

They have a strange menu of dishes that I didn't like any of the main courses. The service was nice. None of the dishes were memorable.

We came from Spain to Lisbon, and stopped in here for a mid afternoon snack. I’m currently very pregnant and have a lot of trouble with textures/smells/ meats that don’t seem fresh. Here, we shared the grilled Portuguese charcuterie, sardines and toast, mussels and chocolate/coffee ice cream. Everything was to die for; Melt in your mouth; lightly but perfectly seasoned. The table white my husband ordered was even incredible. I’d give this restaurant 100/5 stars. If you are in Lisbon, do not miss it.

Best meal of our trip to Lisbon was consumed here. The staff is very attentive and will explain each item on the menu for you. They seem to use many local Portuguese ingredients and have a fairly extensive list of Portuguese wines. Recommend highly for a mid to higher end meal that is slightly more pricey than places nearby.
