It was still a lovely view. I hadn’t had pizza in a while and our cab driver who recommended we come here mentioned that it was good. There were many options and I chose the Capricciosa which the menu described as pomodoro, mozzarella and prosciutto cotto. The pie was very large and arrived at the table uncut. I'd never had that happen before! I motioned the waitress over who cut it for me. She didn't even have to walk back to the kitchen to get the pizza slicer so maybe this was common here? I ate one slice then realized I was not going to be able to eat much more. Not needing any more carbs, I started scraping all the ingredients off the crust. I thought I tasted artichokes and then there were a few whole olives that still had pits. I suppose I got the wrong pie since those items weren't listed on the menu! We also got a bottle of red wine though the waitress kept trying to steer us to the most expensive bottle. We enjoyed the atmosphere as more people arrived. Credit card was accepted. The gorgeous location definitely made up for what was lacking in service.
If you are in Canneto (rather than Lipari town) this is the restaurant to visit. There is pasta, pizza and fish on the menu and if the weather is good, sitting outside by the sea watching the moon shine on the waters is a lovely experience. The service was quite slow, so nice if you have an evening to relax. The food was good and the price reasonable. Unfortunately when we tried to visit again the following evening they had a group which filled the inside and the weather wasn't good enough to sit outside, so we couldn't go.
The only positive thing is a quick service. The food was bad. On top of that, it's an expensive restaurant. So, don't come.
I reserved by phone asking explicitey for a table in front of the sea... Once arrived this was not the case. My daughter had to wait 45 min for her pizza On the positive side food was good and prices reasonable
Am a bit surprised about the very negative reviews, Calandra was actually one of the pleasant surpirses on Lipari. Pasta and Pizza were good, the swordfish was a bit overcooked, but quite alright. service was prompt and very friendly, location and view very nice. recommended.
