When discovering Lille, the Parvis de Treille was the best place for our midday lunch. Wanting at all costs to taste the local specialties, the restaurant did not disappoint us on this point. The Welsh was famous, and a vegetarian adaptation was tailor-made for the occasion. The setting for lunch was perfect (even though it overlooks the ugly facade of the Cathedral). This restaurant was recommended to us by our walking tour guide for traditional Flemish dishes. We decided to try some and it was goooooodddd!!!! Yummy We also had the best waiter, he was so lovely, friendly, chatty and so helpful in explaining the dishes and flavours…Thank you Ryan. Even though the place was heaving and he seemed to be covering the entire indoors seating area on his own he was still friendly, helpful and just lovely.

Far too many covers for the kitchen/staff to cope with, waited an age for our food order to be taken and then only after chasing down staff, the same with anything else we wanted, it's good to be busy but I see droves of people sit down outside only to move on again after no response.... Food ok but my lamb shank sauce was far too salty
