Bidrage med feedbackCame here last summer and fell in love with this place. The shelves were packed with all kinds of interesting things. At the sandwich counter, there was an incredibly friendly man who made me a delicious beef tongue sandwich. I also got a coffee that really hit the spot. I'll definitely visit here again if I return to Montreal.
If you are looking for fresh and cold meats, this is a good place to go, they also have a wide variety of European products that are not easy to find elsewhere. The only inconvenient is that the place is small and the merchandise is a lot, so if you don't take time to look carefully at each aisle, you won't know exactly what they sell there.
Craving for a little German? I’ve been a patron of this catering/deli/mini-market since 1989. Montreal is a city with lots of changes, but Atlantique, a German-Austrian family-run business since the early 60’s, carries on with its excellent service, impressive fresh food, and the same high-quality imported brands from Europe you can find today in Munich or Vienna, striking that perfect balance between old world life and in a changing Montreal landscape. Even the audio in the background is in German.
This is the type of market where a jovial man will tell you all about how the cherries by the register are excellent. If you go doing the day, it is filled with older ladies who are generally in a good humour. Overall, a pleasant place to buy some liverwurst. They have a variety of other European items, not just German stuff, like the Polish linden tea I took a picture of. I wish I lived in the area so I could come more often and have ongoing chats with the nice staff—it’s the kind of place that makes you feel nostalgic even if you have never experienced such an environment before.
A nice variety of European products, but a little on the pricey side.
