Tidepools - Lihue

We loved it here! we went to my man's birthday and they treated us to dessert free, which was very nice to do from them. the whole food was extraordinary and we had no complaints. the service was great and the refill of drinks was timely. the landscape is romantic and it has made fun to observe the Koi fish in the pond. would recommend! also the price for eating and drinking was great! we have paid less per person than another fine culinary experience where eating was not so good.

Excellent service in a beautiful thematic restaurant on the Hyatt property. Music selections cycled a bit too often. Food choices were wide with three vegetarian/vegan options. I had the pad Thai- very nice. High priced excellent wine selection.

Tidepools is nice. It’s in the middle of probably the most expensive resort hotel on Kauai. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. My biggest issue with Tidepools is the price you’re paying for what I would view as an average meal. The food was beautifully plated but taste fell flat, like there was a general lack of seasoning on all of our food. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if the meals were 1/3 of the price. Nothing against Tidepools but the food quality to price ratio did not align, hence my 3 star review.

Was able to get seated without a reservation in the front atrium. Couldn’t get any tables by the water despite them being empty until we left the restaurant. The venue is beautiful overall except for the non reservation seating tables have no view. Food was very good but definitely overpriced for what was received. It also looks really cool to eat. Overall was a good experience and I could see myself coming back here to try more, hopefully with a reservation so I can get the good table by the water.

The restaurant is pretty and it is very relaxing sitting next to the Koi pond. 5 star for the service. Although Lynn is the bus staff and not the main server. She is super friendly and has great customer service, make the guest feel welcome. The management should considering promoting her. 5 star for the environment: The bathroom need to be updated not fit for a grand hyatt hotel. 3 star for the food. The food is not bad but just OK. The presentation is nice, the food is warm and not hot. The portion is large. The taste is off, either very sweet or salty. If you are a foodie, this is nothing special. I went to a small local seafood restaurant called Sam 's and Sam has more tastier food. If you want a nice restaurant with good service. It is a good choice but don 't expect any wow food.
