Bidrage med feedbackOld Wild West is called a steakhouse and is really similar to Jack Bullet in Aurelia, only this one is located near the shoreline of Lido di Ostia. An Italian interpretation of American steakhouse, more of a burger and beer type place of fast casual variety alike Chili 's, Applebee 's, Marie Callender 's, or Chevys Fresh Mex. Somehow in Italy, American burger and fries are associated with beef steaks, and, simultaneously, with the Tex Mex of Chipotle and Baja Fresh variety. Don 't forget about western saloon decor, ranch style, complete with saddle seat bar stools. So, you can find chicken wings and onion rings here, burger and fries, chicken burrito and corn chips or nachos, and some weird combos (service fee is included) like this: Menu Salad €8.20 (salad Arizona, Mexico, or Kentucky, with soda and coffee); Menu Hamburger €8.90 (burger and fries, with soda and coffee); Menu White €9.90 (grilled strips of chicken, fries, with soda and coffee); Menu Tex Mex €9.40 (chicken wrap Santa Cruz or San Diego and chips, with soda and coffee); A la carte, you can order apps like chicken nuggets €5.90, chicken wings €4.90 (4 pieces) or €8.60 (8 pieces), nachos €4.90, with a bottle of beer (Miller or Corona averaging €4.50), or a glass/bottle of wine (a surprising selection of Pino Grigio, Chianti, or even Barbera, averaging €8/€18). Hamburgers are €8, and finally we get to steaks for about €18. Specials include Cow Burger and fries; BBQ ribs and fries; Galletto (chicken, or rooster) Old Wild West; or grilled veggies. You can finish your meal with a cheesecake or tiramisu for about €5.
While visiting Ostia with a friend for the day, we found ourselves hungry and wandering the strip aimlessly. We decided that we needed a bite (and quick! so we stopped into the Old Wild West. We knew what we signed up for. This wouldn't be as delicious as all of the fresh pasta we ate in Rome. We also knew this is what Italians must think Americans eat so we were ready to be disappointed, but it wasn't so bad. This is a chain. The equivalent of an Applebee's in the US, but the food is fresher. The burger was surprisingly decent and the fries were good too. My friend got the wings which looked good too, but I was too full to try them out. The ambiance was that of a chain restaurant but the service was good. All in all, nothing spectacular but good for a quick bite.
Little disappointed with service very cold server took her 10 min to come to our table and place was empty. Not helpful with menu didn't know the menu when asked questions. I ordered winds that were so dried out and oily didn't eat. The steak was ordered as medium rare and it came out like shoe leather.i should of sent it when it came out from order to table in 5 min.
Good food and a nice change of pace while in Italy. The staff was courteous and the restaurant clean. I was there mid afternoon when many of the local restaurants were still closed, not to reopen until much later.
