Bidrage med feedbackI attended an event here and have to say that every thing seemed to go well. The food was good. There was a good variety, seafood, a carving station, salads and pasta dishes. For dessert, they served the standard bland cake and factory made cookie trays. The exception was the smores style pastries which I thought were delicious. A previous review mentioned the bathrooms being unacceptable for wheelchairs. While there are some right angles to negotiate. It looks like an average sized 20 to 24 inch wide wheelchair should be able to get through. A wide, bariatric wheelchair may have difficulty. The sound system the DJ used was not the best, but that is not necessarily the fault of the restaurant. Overall a nice place to have a party. Sample the dishes to be served if possible so you can choose the best ones. Skip the cake and go with the chocolate chip cookies and the smores type pastries.
Every website gives a phone number that you can 't complete the call as dialed trying to reach The Sands for a Senior Citizen friend of mine and I can 't get through. every phone number Online leads me to a person saying this is the incorrect number or the numbers been disconnected. I see all the ratings are very poor, now I know why!
My brother in law who is disabled, was not able to use the unaccessible bathrooms at Sands Lido. His wheelchair could not even pass through the 30 doorway. We called a manager over, waited 10 minutes while my brother in law was about to pee in his pants. They then told us they had a bathroom that was accessible. They took us to the hosts room walking us through the belongings of the people hosting the party to their private bathroom which was also not accessible. How in 2017 can you run a catering hall with no grab bars. It's actually a federal law to have grab bars. I can't fathom you have not run into this problem before. You have to have a thousand people coming through your doors each month- are none of those people disabled, disabled veterans, elderly people who require a wheelchair? Sands Lido, in my entire life, I have never seen a more deplorable bathroom situation for people with disabilities, and I have been to some shit holes with my brother in law. I had to take my wife and my brother in law , pack up, leave the party early, and take him to an accessible bathroom- never returning to your hall. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Wait till you get old or disabled and need to relieve yourself. I will be contacting the Nassau County Department of Disability Monday morning at 9:00am sharp, as well as any other state and federal office who will hear me. I took pictures as well.
I met with Rachel this weekend she accommodated me to give me a tour on a last minute request, was very friendly and sweet.. The place is actually very beautiful, renovated and great space., the menu looks great and the choices are very good. I want to book my wedding here but after reading all these reviews its kind of frightening. I don't want to spend my money or have my special day be a nightmare at the end. Has anyone recently had a good experience here to make me at ease. Sometimes these reviews can be helpful and other times damaging, but they seem to have so much negativity than positive feedback. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!
This place gets 1 star based on the fact that no one from their facility ever calls you back. My fiancé and I tried to set up an appointment to view the venue. At first the woman responded 10 times within the first 5 minutes. Even sending over some good reviews to counter the negative ones online. That should have been the first red flag. As we got closer to the date to just go and see the place we tried to call them 5 times to confirm... No answer at all!! At any time of day. No reception no one. Left messages on a machine... No call backs, called again... Nothing... this place should be avoided like the plague... if you can't even reach someone to see the place imagine the problems you'll have for your special day!
