Bidrage med feedbackThis city is absolutely buzzing, so many things to see and do. We went to visit my son who lives in nearby little bay. We were at the party or New Year's Eve at the opera house which we have to say is stunning, as is the harbour and the harbour bridge. Darling Harbour is buzzing with things to do with many lovely restaurants. And of course the sky tower. As for beaches they are all stunning in there own way. Bondi is the surfers paradise and is very popular with travelling back packers. Manly Beach is just beautiful, as is Coogee, watson said bay, and Marouba, The coastal walk from Coogee to Bondi is especially lovely. we also visited Sydney Zoo in which was fabulous, along with the stunning blue mountains. This city defiantly will not disappoint, it's easy to get around with affordable public transport especially buses. We loved everything about the whole experience. We flew with Etihad airways, through Flight finders.
They have nice food, nice service, clean place. love it a lot and it was a good night. I definitely will go again.
We had a wonderful "farewell" dinner with our tour group at Nick's. The next day, my daughter and I enjoyed lunch there as their special of the day were "BUGS" which I absolutely couldn't resist after having them for the first time in CAIRNS. My daughter was able to have a lovely vegetarian meal. The waiter was gracious and friendly and the view from our semi-outside table was excellent. NIck's will always be a pleasant memory of our trip to Australia.
MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS AND CAFES IN SYDNEY Sydney a cosmopolitan city is considered the melting pot of the world therefore most of the world’s cuisines can be found here. From silver service restaurants to bistros and cafes, one can enjoy the cuisines of the world, a gastronomic adventure for those seeking different flavours and tastes from dishes cooked with the freshest foods found locally. My favourite restaurants and cafes are the following; the Opera Café in Hotel Intercontinental or Café Mix in Shangri-la Hotel at the Rocks where international buffets are served. At Kelly’s Bar And Grill Bondi Junction in Bondi Westfield Shopping Centre, I enjoy the well flavoured juicy steaks and specially marinated ribs served with the house bread speciality ‘Brioche’. Other items on the menu tempt the tastes of diners. Ask for a window table when booking for a panoramic view of Sydney Harbour Bridge and city and water views of Bondi Beach nearby. This restaurant has special New Year’s Eve menu to welcome in the New Year and watch the fireworks display live from this venue. For Italian food, Leichhardt is the place to go and there are many restaurants to dine in. For someone with a sweet tooth, the St. Honore Bakery at Mosman has a wide variety of bread, cakes and pies in store and also a restaurant for a taste of degustation French food on a promotion basis. For seafood, there are many restaurants at Darling Harbour but my favourite one is at the Sydney Fish Market where there are small cafes selling over the counter freshly cooked seafood. Fish, prawns, scallops, calamari, mussels, crumbed or battered are among the cooked seafood available. Already cooked fresh lobsters such as Lobster Mornay, or other lobster dishes can be ordered cooked to one’s liking such as steamed or stir fried with shallots, ginger and a touch of chillies in a tasteful sauce. Crabs are also available cooked to one’s liking and Chilly Crab is one of them. Experience dining in the open air cafes with the fresh sea breeze wafting through and listen to the squawks of sea gulls bobbing on the sea and flying in to try and ‘catch’ fish from the many fish stalls selling fresh fish. Chinese food and other SE Asian cuisines can be found in Chinatown in the city and my favourite Chinese restaurants are the Golden Century Restaurant and Marigold Restaurant. ‘Yum Cha’ usually served during lunch time and a la carte menus are available in these two restaurants. ‘Yum Cha’ as the locals know it consists of steamed, fried or baked dumplings (dim sims) served on plates placed on trolleys that are pushed around the tables in the dining room for diners to make a selection of what they would like to have for lunch. A novelty in sampling small portions of different dishes for taste.Smaller restaurants known for their BBQ and roast pork and roast duck can be found in other suburbs such as Chatswood and Neutral Bay. For authentic Singaporean and Malaysian flavours, try Ginger N Spice Restaurant at Neutral Bay. Challenge your taste buds for slightly spicy North Indian aromatic curries and tandoori baked ‘naan’ bread at Shennai Indian Restaurant, Crow’s Nest along Pacific Highway.
