Bidrage med feedbackI visited this restaurant a month ago and I want to caution others that some waitstaff may not be familiar with what "vegan" means. I ordered a dish with tempeh, which they did not have, so I ended up with one with mushrooms instead. It was nothing special. When they offered me soup, I requested a vegan option and was informed that the pumpkin soup was made with butter, but they could offer me mushroom soup instead. I accepted and received the same soup as others in my group who were eating meat. The mushroom soup contained speck, which was not mentioned on the menu.
After spontaneously visiting Lake Bledsee by train, we decided to stop by this restaurant, which also serves as a hotel. It is conveniently located near the railway station and offers outdoor seating in a beer garden as well as on a terrace enclosed in glass. Although the initial arrival experience was strange, the staff later proved to be very helpful and humorous. They are also multilingual, speaking an impressive array of languages at a high level. The menu boasts two full pages of vegetarian options, although none are clearly marked as vegan. The dishes are intriguing, but the quality varies from poor to just okay. The standout was likely the Vegi plate. Overall, we didn't have any other choice and that would likely be the only reason for a return visit. [Review updated on 2019-08-11]
This traditional restaurant offers only two vegan options (pasta and buckwheat - see the price list in the picture). Due to their limited availability, they come with either a mushroom or sweet sauce. The portion sizes are average. This review was last updated on August 13, 2021.
We came here on our way back from Bled and Bohinj and had an overall good experience. The staff was friendly and made sure that our meals were vegan. They had a good page and a half of vegetarian options that could mostly be made vegan. We had the broccoli and leek pasta and the tofu wrapped in zucchini with soy sauce. The food was good with some pretty large servings (the pasta).
Not to be missed when visiting Bled. There's a great selection of vegan dishes, so it took me some time to make up my mind. I'd never had seaweed risotto before, so I ordered arame risotto. It sounded interesting and was very tasty (there were some carrots in it as well . I also had miso soup with some more seaweed and sesame seeds. It was tasty, but tasted western, I think it might have had some parsley in it. They had no vegan cakes, but the waiter offered me fresh bilberries (that usually come with ice cream, but that wouldn't be vegan . I got a whole bowl of them, and they were delicious even without any kind of sweetener. The staff is very friendly. The food is somewhat pricy though. The chocolate factory Gorenjka is located nearby. The factory store sells discounted chocolates (because they broke or turned out not so pretty . For about €8 you can buy a kilo of vegan dark chocolate with whole hazelnuts, or vegan dark chocolate with puffed rice. Ask the waiter in Tulipan for directions ;
