Bidrage med feedbackWe were for a weekend in la ferme bonavis and so we booked for dinner in the restaurant with the same name. fortunately, we made a reservation because the restaurant was terminated on Saturday night. cooking is quite simple and traditional with generous...shares, the service was fast and friendly. and the bill was not very expensive. a point of critics: bringing people to the greenhouse on a winter night was not a very good idea, it was not almost possible to warm up this place.
We were in the house on a Monday afternoon along the d1044 and there were no places we saw north of st. quentin. then we saw le bonavis at a crossing in the middle of nowhere. the car parked outside said they were open for business, and our group of four went in. it felt warm and friendly inside and the facility seemed very fresh. we were brought to a table and menu in a short order. the Express menu appealed how we were on the way to home. the plate du jour was grilled porridge served with frit and an oriental salat. starter of Spanish ham and no dessert. coffee included. eating was good with generous portions. wee at the bottle or pichet. faster service and very friendly all for a good price. stil des dienst was more caffe than restaurant, although the facility was more restaurant than caffe. we were glad to eat there as the option seemed to be in cambrai.
Our travel group of 19 Americans enjoyed a lot of delicious lunch from the menu. We had no reservations, but received a friendly, patient reception with good service hot food.
In the middle of nowhere. a beautiful restaurant, with a good call. many people served in no time. local cuisine and traditional food. the dessert was particularly good.
We were travelling from the Alps back home to the North east and booked a B B at Banteux (10 minutes outside Cambrai) The B B (Ferme de Bonavis) was excellent by the way!! Our landlady booked us into the restaurant which was across the rosd...from the lodgings. To be fair we didn't expect much as there is nothing else (resaurant wise) for a few miles, however having driven for 9 hours the last thing I wanted to do was get in the car and drive to Cambrai. What a find this place is! The place was packed (Saturday night, early April) and the food was spectacular! The chef cooks the meat on an open fire in the centre of the restaurant and it is cooked to perfection I couldn't decide which meat to choose so I had the mixed grill it was the best one I have ever had beautifully cooked and served with veg and sauces. The other mains (lamb duck) were also superb! In all honesty I haven't enjoyed a meal as much for a long, long time spectacular food, great service in an unexpected location brilliant!
