It was very tasty, and a great balance of sweet and spicy. Fair amount of seating, board games are available, and it feels spacious. Parking may be an issue. I was there on a Saturday, there was no street parking available on the major street. That was fine enough; parking on the major street is all limited to 2 hours. Actually, I realize that there were 2 events going on in the the other spaces of the building... That probably had something to do with it. Anyways, found some parking on a side street. Bonus is that there was no time limit. Saw one car with a smashed in window, though... May be something to look out for...Parking: Closest parking is all timed.
It was a Thursday afternoon at about 1pm. I was searching for a cool new cafe near me online and Uptown Grounds looked really awesome. I took the time to take a bus (dont own a car), and was looking forward to a nice simple espresso. When I arrived, I casually walked in and the place was empty...and I mean EMPTY.... including the employees. I stood at the front counter waiting for someone to maybe return from the back for a long LONG LOOONG time. I said hello rather loudly twice...nothing! Ghost Cafe! It was really uncomfortable, so I just turned around and walked out disappointed. Ended up going to Starbucks instead.
Note they are closed for the summer. Tried to go there recently and saw that sign. If you are trying to go, try after summer I guess. That aside, when they are open they have excellent coffee and espresso drinks.
Decided to stop here after leaving a little early for work. If there’s any coffee shop that would make you want to come back to the hood it would be this one. The staff was very nice and the Vanilla Latte I got is great. I’ll be coming back some time to try more from this place. 4.6/5.
Coffee is rich and delicious. Very friendly service. Even though it was my first time there. I was greeted with a smile and felt right at home!!
