Bidrage med feedbackThis weekend we had booked a bus tour again, as one of the program points would hardly have been possible for single travelers. On Saturday we arrived in Leipzig in the afternoon, and after the city tour we had free time. Looking for a reasonable meal we ran through the streets and alleys of the old town. Despite the large number of gastronomic plants there it took a while until we found a semi-displaying place. The large dining room of this Bistros was almost completely occupied, so we turned to an operator in search of a free table. They showed us vaguely towards the window front, and finally we found a table in the area. Another service brought us the menus shortly afterwards. In fact, we had already decided in advance for an offer on a stand outside the door, which was also the reason for the choice of this place. The extensive menu can be found on the restaurant's homepage: [here link] At the beginning of December, there is also a recommendation from the kitchen, for which we decided unisono: “Glassed goose bumps on apple redwort with cranberry sauce and potato crumbs” (16.90 €), Madame “Heiße Minze mit Ingwer” (2.90 € , I am an alcohol-free yeast white beer (4.50 €). The service thanked and disappeared to the rear towards the kitchen. Like almost all of her colleagues, it seemed to be only angelic forces, some of them also students. They were all seemingly blurred in the big guest room, but ultimately all orders ended up in the right place. The services were supported by a team of about six middle-aged men who had everything under control behind the tresen. The noise level was quite high, given the number of visitors and the constantly newly arriving guests, but also no wonder. After a reasonable waiting period, the plates were served with our food. A good size goose bump divided the square with two potato dumplings and a tidy portion of red cabbage. The latter was clearly made: I have never experienced such a rough structure in an industrially produced product, in some cases the pieces were several centimeters long. This coarse structure also brought about a perfect cooking, the pieces were soft on the outside, but still had bites in the core. The dumplings also showed traces of their own production with the typical piece of bread in the middle. The goose bumps had a beautiful crusty crust, the meat was tender and tasty. So far everything was fine and we were already at the last bites when we noticed that two guests had started smoking at the side table. Madame, who sat cheaper, went there and asked to make the cigarettes, but only received the answer that there was a smoking area. It took a while until we managed to make an operation aware of us and to address the facts. In the meantime we had finished our meal. The service then explained to us that on the ground floor from 20:00 you can smoke. Finally, the ground floor at the entrances is characterized as a smoker area and finally a separate non-smoking area on the first floor with access from the rooms of the neighboring cabaret. We then paid and left the place in a curse, not without looking for the smoke label, which we could not find. And access to the rooms of the cabaret (and thus to the non-smoking area we have found a half block further, which is of course easily recognizable for strangers. P.S. We didn't let this experience stand like that, and we've been inquired by the trade supervision in Leipzig, what the rules there are. We came to the realization that for us the Free State of Saxony is not only a non-smoking country. Not only has it been confirmed that there is no control against the practices in this particular place, nor is there any health examination and training required in Saxony for potential gastronomics. Small businesses (if I remember right up to 20 seats don’t even need their own toilets, it’s enough for the operator to prove public toilets “in a circle”. Let every reader draw his own conclusions from this, for us, this state is first removed from the list of our personal goals.

We were very fond of eating, especially with the Jack Fruit something special is offered which we did not know before. The location is good and cozy. The price-performance ratio definitely fits.
A very lively but very cozy alley with many large and small pubs. Great variety of food, faster and friendly, but not intrusive service. Very nice ambience for lousy summer nights. Were here two times a distance of 2 years and come back safely.
It's quite full, which has the advantage that you get space. It is very touristy. The service is friendly and fast. It tasted too. Fortunately, heating mushrooms were set up.
