The Cedars - Leicester

Ok so came here for lunchtime food, there were three of us. We sat down, and one of us went to the bar to place an order. We were 3rd in the queue, and it took 15 mins before we got to place the order. Behind the bar was I believe was the manager, he looked very unsteady on his feet, and had slurred speech. It took 10 mins to place our order, and 3 drinks. We got our drinks, and thought that was it. But no, this guy totally lost the plot, couldn't operate the till or the order system, it took a further 15 mins, at which point he gave up and said I'll sort out our later. We sat down, but weren't convinced, so we collard another waitress to check if our order was in the kitchen. Lo and behold, no order. She apologised and put the order on the system within 3 mins. Food came out within 15 mins from then and was not bad. As we were walking out, people at the bar waiting to be served by the manager, were left in shock, as he decided to go across the road to the shop without any word. Rest of the staff great, the manager is either totally drunk, or on some heavy medication, in both cases, should not be working.

OK food and drink, prompt service and friendly staff. One star rating unfortunately due to the amount of dog mess there is in the garden. The garden where children are free to run around and play! It's absolutely disgusting and absolute laziness that noone is checking and cleaning up regularly at the start/end of the working day please change your practice before some poor child ends up catching something!

So we popped in as a family met by a grumpy guy behind the bar bit lewis capaldi looking mardy very unhelpful...i was expecting good things as heard this was the place to go for a steak/mixed grill....i had the mighty mixed grill £16 and i must say the quality of food was poor steak was chewy the liver was horrendous taste i wont go into to much detail but for sure i won't be returning!

We went to the restaurant as a group. On arriving at the restaurant, we had to wait an awfully long time to order our drinks at the bar due to a long queue. When we finally got to the front of the queue, the reason for the delay became apparent… the gentleman we understand was the manager was very visibly inebriated, acting erratically and slurring his words. (Judging by other staffs reactions, this wasn’t a one off) We asked said manager to put our food order through, which he did… Incorrectly! When we finally received our correct food, most of it was extremely dry and disappointing. Made worse by our view of the courtyard with 3 4 rats scurrying around. Disgusting many of us were put off our food. The poor staff were run ragged made only worse by their unprofessional managers state. Admittedly, the majority of the bar staff don’t deserve this rating as they did their best to pick up the pieces, but the whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. Definitely do not recommend.

Had lunch here while visiting a relative nearby. They do a great meal deal with a good selection. Its obviously very popular. Very pleasant and service is excellent.
