‘highest’ heights; The small settlement „Auf Höchsten“ near Lebach Steinbach lies above 400 meters high. At least for the Saarland county Saarlouis is the name program. Now one should not know the spots, there are no beautiful hiking trails, two similar inns and a contemplative complex with chapel and grotto consecrated by the “God’s Mother” Maria, but also other or non-believers in their magic. Our main theme, however, is the “Café Waldfrieden”, which is open from Friday to Sunday noon. It resembles the huts of the Palatinate or Saarwald Association and gives guests recent memories of the Saarland economies. The award is great, the offer is ok: from Wiener bis Schinkenbrot, Hackbraten und Pizza bis Hähnchen, where they just introduced a special reputation to the café. Whether with bread, salad and/or pommes: The dishes also remember previous highlights of the Saarland Gastronomy and in combination with a cool beer or a delicious glass of wine (0.25l for 3.80 euros are an absolute bargain a real pleasure. Everything at his time! To prepare for return you should already plan a hike, e.g. the 8 km long “climate round” with magnificent views of valleys, forests, fields and meadows and views of the Black Forest Hochwald, the Saarkohlesattel as well as the Lorraine and the Pfälzer Bergland. All in all: a great region with a great opportunity to return and something nostalgia!

We were here to celebrate after the civil wedding of friends and it was really great as a location! Especially for children because they can walk around without the danger of traffic. Located in the middle of the forest also ideal for celebration because you cannot disturb anyone around. Also the hostess was super sweet and the food was very delicious. A great day!
