Bidrage med feedbackWe too were on our way to the Abbaye du Thoronet and wanted lunch first. We would have been quite happy with omelette and chips - the usual veggie fallback - but there on the slate outside the restaurant were the magic words "assiette végétarienne". It was a well-balanced mixture of salad and raw vegetables with a few cooked veg and a mound of rice. The owner suggested adding a slice of camembert which made the meal perfect. We rounded off with a moelleux aux chocolat and home-made pineapple cake, both excellent.
A good home meal with personal attention in a beautiful Provençal village, we went in winter so not many tourists, the owner made us feel at home.
We found this amazing place on our way to the Abbaye Du Thoronet. Each of us ordered a typical dish and we found them all delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and joyful. Excellent price/quality rate
On the main road running through the old town of Le Thoronet, this was the only restaurant that we saw, and we are glad we stopped. Their plates of chicken, ribs, and pork chop were each accompanied by a tasty serving of tabouli and a beautiful salad of greens and fruit. The meal without dessert averaged 17 euros; dessert could be added for an additional 2 euros. The proprietors were very friendly and jovial. I would recommend parking at the tourist office and walking a block up to the old town. We got to the restaurant right at noon after our visit to the Abbey, which I would highly recommend.
Lovely atmosphere, food and service on a beautiful summer's evening. We had a superb, local main course followed by a lemon tart which was out of this world. Fantastic hosts.
