Bidrage med feedbackThis was the only place to eat so it wasn't carefully chosen, but it was (to our humble English palates) most excellent. One €20 and one €29 menu brought forth a succession of delights five courses at the higher price. Without translating the menus...(which are on the Chez Mado website), between us we were served fish terrine, prosciutto ham, fish soup with croutons and cheese, main dishes of white fish and beef fillet, brie, sorbet, and nougat ice cream. All delicious and beautifully presented, on hot plates where necessary, in a comfortable and friendly terrace lounge with a view of the lights of St Valery. And with three drinks the bill was just €62 last of the big spenders.
Very nice atmosphere. Service was great. Local seafood was very enjoyable great wine list for a small resteraunt
I booked the restaurant for Sunday lunch as a treat for my wife and I. We had eaten here on 3 occasions previously and wanted to repeat the experience. It certainly did not disappoint, the food was superb chosen from a wide selection on the...menu. The service was very traditionally french, efficient and unobtrusive. I can not comprehend the reviewers who complained about the service, finishing touches or lack of child friendliness. I have never experienced or seen this when there, in fact I observed wonderful interaction with the younger diners. It appears that the complaining, English, do not understand the experience, I suggest they sod off to McDonald's and feed their overweight spoilt offspring a meal they all deserve
Hardly more than five tables eat and our order has been lost or forgotten. get in main courts come to different times. the service seems to focus primarily on the upselling. Once the order arrives, all attention seems to be lost. the courts were. well prepared, traditional and classic as they can be.
This iconic place was recently taken over and the new peculiarities are obviously trying to get their act together. the place was not very clean, the menu is a chaos. the only thing we enjoyed was the smoked forellensalat, everything was boiled dried and clearly reheated. Mustels were terrible. I hope they have managed to turn around the place or many locals will be very upset.
