After my visit @ their previous place "Gracias Madre" in Hamburg during a fashion shoot in 2015 I was kissed by lucky coincidence to visit their new pop-up at Isla Holbox. As a full vegan and partly RAW foodie I was pampered again with organic and delicious creations during my 10-day lasting visit on the island. It took me a little time to find them but it was worth it! The place is located 50 meters off the main plaza entering the street between "Pizzeria Edelin" and the kindergarden. Nestled in this quite street makes diner much more cosy regarding the mass of people populating the plaza in the evening. They are open only at night 6 to 9p.m. and to be honest I miss their breakfast a bit which I remember from Hamburg…
I had heard great things about this restaurant but the menu disappointed. High carbs, low proteins and few good fats. Good for younger vegans but no so much for kerogenic dieters or glycemic indexers. The bean bourguignon was robust, filling and tasty. Not over-salted. The black beans were perfectly cooked -- melt-in-your-mouth. The portobello added nothing in flavor, texture or nutrition. The carrots were crunchy and lukewarm. Epazote garnish was wisely applied and gluten-free toast was a nice touch. But this bore no resemblance to beef bourguinon. The presentation - a bowl, a paper napkin around a knife and fork - was flat. Ingredient cost was 10% of the plate price. The dish was slow cooked in advance. A child could have made this dish. I would have called it black bean chili. The restaurant could not supply hot sauce for an adjacent table that was having the tacos - and this is Mexico! A sour creme topping would not have been out of place for either of us. All in all, the bean bowl was rather bland. I may go back to try something else but my first impression is overpriced and overrated.

No pense encontrar un lugar asi en medio de la Isla. pero si Raw food en Holbox, Riquisimo, se puede desayunar, pero preferi almorzar, me tome un licuado de sandia con semillas de chia y lino.y una ensalada kale, increible Tiene unas tortas, que no lo podes creer
