Bidrage med feedbackOur experience goes further than just bad food, I feel like we were very mistreated. Let me first say that the service was impeccable, which is why we still left a generous tip, it was certainly not the fault of the servers. We were so hopeful to relive our wonderful experiences in this restaurant as we had under Chef Eric. It immediately became obvious that things were different when we delivered a menu. In our previous visits, Chef Eric comes out to tell us what he had to offer, no menu. It was a very interesting culinary experience with gourmet food that we were so happy about. And it is still as such, on different sites. We tried to ask about it, asked for Chef Eric even, but the servers and hosts did not speak English and it is regrettable that we did not work harder on our Spanish skills. So we went on to order from the menu, think, maybe he just changed the format and the food would be as incredible as before. We ordered Crostini appetizers and flank steak main, and the flank steak hamburger. I'm sorry to say, but the food was absolutely terrible. The crostini bread was not even roasted, and was made with what smelled and tasted like vegien in cook boyardee sauce. The flank steak was tasteless, unspoiled, tough and not even supposed (it looked boiled. It was served in a pool of beans, very uninteresting. The same applies to the flank steak Burger, Bland, hard to chew, and the bungalow was soggy and inedible. The fries were good. I asked her to pack the steak after cutting it into small pieces to feed one of the many dogs in the city, as even KETCHUP did not make it possible. Perhaps the most disturbing is the fact that to use the restroom/oilette in the kitchen and past in INCHES of the food pass .... I mean centimeters of people meals! So people are here, even though all foods, it just seems wrong. I feel very confused as the restaurant obviously has changed its cook/ownness and it is concept, but kept the same name without explanation that everything is different. I guess we should have known it right if we got menus.
They say menu changes every day, but when you sit, they bring an actual plasticized menu that wear and tear shoes. Food will be ready for your table almost immediately after the order. I was told I was squirting... I got Calamari... Tuna was so overcooked. So we're the shrimps. And what is the deal with the pages? Fruit salad and two spoons of tasteless rice. Everything was tasteless. The other fish dish we ordered (the so-called catch of the day) came with a “ sauce” which was actually the same as the soup served as “entrée”. Everything tasted like Oregano. A meal for two ended the cost of 1725 MX including 15% tip. A glass of wine and a cola. Stafff's waiting was decent. This is a complete tourist trap. Hostesses at the door make you feel “Hollywood” ask “you know how this restaurant works?”. This restaurant deserves no more than 1 star. We were seven days on the island and had the opportunity to visit great restaurants that were much better for much less. We are food from Canada and we cook a lot. We look at this restaurant and the food we ever had among the worst. Now you understand that this is not a real five-star review, the same way that this is not a real restaurant.
Given the marketing hype, I had hoped that this meal would be extra special, but it was ordinary at best. Black salmon was a tad dry; sides of potatoes and cubed fruit were bland. Only thing I liked was the soup. Very disappointing!
As advertised, no menu. Think of it as 4 specials, all good. Soup was delicious. Fish was outstanding. Texture of tuna (which was rare) was off, but sauce and sides were great. Really, no complaints. Will be back Sat outside upstairs.
This place is strange. We went from the back of several reviews, the stories of fresh ingredients, lovingly joined by a star chef, no menus, just vibes. What transpired was a 20-minute wait for a table in a half empty restaurant. I got a menu. Hmm? It is called “No Menus” on the upper tbf. I raise an eyebrow, but keep pushing. There are nachos, hamburgers, chips. How did we get to that point? My wife orders a glass of house wine. “We have not, only the others.” With 15 pounds more expensive. K thx mate. The food we order is quite good ceviche is fresh, sea bass is fun. We're getting confused. What is this place? Why do people love it so much online? Why does the menu say there are no menus? We go over the street to another bar for a Mezcalita and some live-ska music. It's much better.
