Cafe del Mar - Lazaro Cardenas

Craving for a coffee I saw their nicely written sign on the beach and decided to have a look. The cafe is situated 50m from the beach and surprised me with a lovely garden, so nicely decorated that I felt instantly invited. The waitress was friendly but a little bit overworked with the amount of people having ordered breakfast, so I had to wait a long time. I ordered a coffee and a fresh orange juice. I got a coffee (just the normal filter coffee you get anywhere in Mexico) and a not fresh at all passion fruit juice. When I mentioned to the waitress that I was a little bit disappointed about my juice she just said something like "oh yea, orange was over so I gave you passion fruit instead", I didn't feel very happy about the situation. But because she remained friendly and was clearly busy I just kept it that way, enjoyed the atmosphere in this beautiful garden, paid and left without having finished my juice. All in all I can recommend this cafe because of this lovely atmosphere but don't expect to get extraordinary food. The Menue offered just normal and basic food with for this island typical higher prices. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere just perfect for some breakfast!

Staying on the outer reaches of an island with no cars makes this place especially appealing for a meal in its shady garden. The food is freshly prepared, the menu is quite large and varied, and the service is excellent. To save a taxi trip into town, we ate here several times and after a filling meal, sometimes took home salads for our dinner. Delicious!

We came across this café on our cycle ride back from Playa Coco - set back from the beach in a shady oasis. We didn't see any other beach side bars in the area so this was truly a welcome stop! There is an interesting 'therapeutic juice' menu and I chose lemonade (the fresh kind!) with a choice of two added ingredients- in my case ginger and aloe. It was delicious. There is also a very comfortable hammock which, if you swing gently, reaches the bench where you've put your drink! Idyllic!

We rented a house near this restaurant., we had breakfast every morning., the menu is outstanding with fresh eggs and juice. The Owner is a very gentle lady from Austria she is the cook while he son waits the tables., both with an amazing spiritual attitude!! We loved everything about it !!! Can't wait to go back !!!Rosa
