Applebee's Grill - Laveen Village

We came for the weekday dinner and ordered boneless wings to start. when our lunch was before our appetizers, we decided not to continue with the appetizer of our order. our waitress came to us in the middle of eating and offered to send us with the appetizers for misunderstanding, we thanked her. Once we paid for our dinner, our waitress came by with the combed, boneless wing appetizer and thanked us for eating there. when we were just gone, a gentleman (which was apparently the manager) came out of nothing and we were not sure that he was talking to us, as our backs were already with him when we were gone. he said we couldn't take the wings because they weren't paid and he just wanted to throw them away. we told him that we did not want the wings to begin, and the waitress offered them to us, his answer was; No just wanted to throw her away. not only did I feel that this was rude, but it was so embarrassing to say the least.

We have about there. 5 pm most tables empty we sat 5:55 we placed our happy hour appetizer and drink order at 6:02 and were said not to honor 1/2 price. I said, but we were here, it's just short staff that I don't have to pay twice, I asked if I could talk very nicely to the manager, refused to see me. the assistent finally came to repeat the rules. as soon as it turned around 6 o'clock, sat over 20 ppl. will not come back. no excuse.

Me and my wife love coming here for special occasions. Lately the food has been excellent presentation wise and taste. I couldn't have said that a year ago so improvements have been made.

This Applebees definitely impressed us! We ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer, the Bourbon chicken and the sirloin steak and all of it was delicious! The service is what really stood out though. Our server was super fast, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Wish I could remember his name ? but he’s there weekdays during happy hour he said lol Overall it was really good though and their new menu looks great so we’ll be back to try more soon!

This was my 1st and last time visiting this particular Applebee's I have been to several locations and really enjoyed them but this time this was all due to the waitress who waited on us. She was very short with us didn't seem to care at all about helping. The food wasn't all that good which was strange other Applebee's I have been too it's been great and then at the end the waitress for some reason I had my card ready to pay in plain site and handed the bill to my wife I just didn't understand it. Then when she came back with MY card she handed it to my wife to sign it! I just didn't understand if she was doing it on purpose or she thought people in wheelchairs didn't have money it just didn't make sense. So I will not be returning to this particular Applebee's!
