Bidrage med feedbackI went to Bistro L'Aromate for a business dinner in April 2019. It is a French bistro located in Laval, approximately a 30-minute drive from downtown Montreal. The ambiance was decent, but it didn't quite measure up to the top restaurants in Montreal.
This weekend, there was a birthday party. We were a table of about 15 people with another group of 4 people in the restaurant. It took about 40 minutes before the waitress took our order and the food was not worth it. The beef tar was probably the worst I had, and the brownie was stale. Besides the service that was extremely disappointing when we were practically the only ones, the food was not good either. Will not return.
I was extremely disappointed with the slow service, presentation, and lack of table service at this supposedly "high-end" restaurant. It was an all-you-can-eat restaurant with tartare on Tuesday, but they closed at 8:30? We were only asked for our drink order after about 45 minutes, and then had to wait another 30 minutes for our food. The dishes were served individually with no presentation whatsoever. I do not recommend this restaurant.
We tried this restaurant after asking for recommendations from friends, and we were not disappointed. Your tartars are so good and they have a great cheese plate. I ordered a main dish that was too spicy, and the waitress and chef liked to replace my meal for something else without hesitation. Very recommended!!
We went specifically for the all you can eat tartar. Amazing! We could choose between salmon, beef, shrimp and scallop. They were all very good. It came with salad and fries. We only took 1 more plate each. It really nice to be able to...taste them all instead of having to choose one. The rest of the menu also looks very good I would love to try it! We also got a pitcher of white sangria. It ended up being way bigger then we expected and after 2 hours we were both very tipsy :P The restaurant itself is very nice inside. Although the front entrance is very small. I really thought I came in through the back.
