Bidrage med feedbackWe went to the restaurant for lunch on Sunday. We were a family group of 6 people. It is recommended to have booked a table for larger groups, but we still got a place. The service was very slow. We spent over 2 hours there with two stages of food orders. First we ordered the cheese/meat plate that came without bread and carving with frits. The food was good, it would have been better with bread for the plates. Our second order came in steps, so we couldn't eat together. Soup was okay, lettuce too. We also had the local speciality of cheese cuts, which was also ok, nothing special. The special of the day was sold out at 1:30 and was not even suggested by the waitress when we arrived. Overall, the service was very slow, at least for us for some reason. I would not recommend eating there, it is more for drinks and maybe cakes (cheeks looked good, though not try it). Besides, it didn't seem like they had a proper kitchen, and even when it was busy, they seemed understated to manage all tables efficiently. If you still want to eat, I would recommend going for the scavenger. We found the restaurant by TripAdvisor where it obviously has very good reviews, so we came with certain expectations that unfortunately the restaurant could not live. But the views are certainly worth a visit.
Tip Swiss meal lunch, excellent food, warm hosts and amazing panorama!!! You can reach the restaurant only with a cable car and it is a fantastic experience...
Yeah, it's really as much about the trip as it's the target here. Simple Swiss staples prepared in the smallest kitchen; good caught and filled beers and wonderful and truly friendly service. We even had a trio of accordionists to accompany an almost heavenly experience. Who climbs this way deserves a medal; my goal for the next time starts training here!
I can't even begin to describe the beauty of this place! It's a 20 franc cable car ride to the top, unless you're a strong hiker. But SO worth the price of admission on a clear day. The wait staff was super friendly, spoke enough...English that with my pitiful knowledge of Swiss German, we could converse. The bratwurst was delectable. And our dog was welcomed! But all of this could have been 1 star, and I'd still give the place 4 just because of the view. Wow. Just wow.
True, there are easier ways to get there than the 2 hours walk uphill why don t you try the cable car? but both, hiker and tourist will be overwhelmed by the stunning view onto the lake of lucerne and into the alps...as well. the cuisine is fresh and sourced locally with main courses costing between chf 15 to 20. the hosting couple is young, cheerful and dedicated for a year now to turn this place into a must see and according to tripadvisors ranking they have fared well. for the not faint hearted there s a 10 ' stroll onto 'stockflue ' (light climbing involved) where the view opens up towards schwyz and the majestic 'mythen mountain range '. definitely a recommendation!
