Bidrage med feedbackI used [hidden link] to get a coupon for Pa DeGennaro's (which is what I always do when I am trying a new restaurant). I am not sure where to start. Do I blast [hidden link] for offering coupons for this restaurant? Well, maybe but heck, they make a tub full of money without serving a dish. Do I blast the nerve of the owner (who we were told was not present) for having the nerve to call this an Italian restaurant? Do I blast the server for telling me I had made a good choice on the food I ordered? Do I blast the busser who brought the bread basket and said one of the selections was focaccia when it clearly was not? Do I blast the manager who with a total of one table in the restaurant (mine) did not bother to check on us? BTW, at 7 PM there was only one other table. Do I blast the chef (and I use the term loosely) for sending out food that did not match the descriptions, was too loaded with garlic to taste the delicate flavors of the fish? The building appeared to be in good repair but I observed light bulbs that were not functioning. The flatware was clean but only one fork out of the three on our table did not have bent tines. The bread basket was delivered with two pieces of sesame flatbread (you can purchase this at Costco), two pieces of “focaccia” that had garlic all over it and it was heavy, and one sourdough roll that was cut in half and a full head of dry roasted garlic. Things went downhill from there. My calamari was not completely cut through and there were strings holding the rings together. The breading was heavy and loaded with spices. A drizzle of a garlic mayo coated the fried seafood and more garlic loaded the tomato sauce. My hint here is if you love garlic and your taste buds don’t appreciate delicate flavors, order this dish. Second I ordered the Antipasto. The best way to describe this is a cobb salad without the boiled egg. The greens did not include what the menu stated, the cheese and salami were cut into small squares. The prosciutto was NOT Italian. My guest ordered the salmon cooked on a cedar plank. The dish description did not make it sound like an Italian dish so that part was fine. The fish was cooked properly but heavily loaded with caramelized onions. Again, if your taste buds have been destroyed you might not mind not being able to taste the fish you paid for. Our server asked if we wanted to order dessert or coffee. Are you kidding me? Don’t do it! Don’t waste your time or money to sit in this over priced and under delivered restaurant where clearly the management does not care why they are not busy.
