Bidrage med feedbackAmazing place to eat in Scotland. Food was amazing so was the service. Thank you to our server Michael and Chef Kerry. We had an amazing lunch with the family.
Great facility. Comfortable and cosy setting. Service could’ve been better as the lady that we spoke to wasn’t that friendly. Thankfully we managed to get a table as it was quite busy. We weren’t looking for a large meal but instead decided to order a few starters as small plates. My favourite was the Halloumi fries. The seasoning on them was superb. We also got maple glazed chicken wings, which were good, salt and pepper calamari was spot on, slow roasted tomato arancini was ok and the stone-baked flatbread was great and finally the Camembert bites were fine. We did think that it was quite expensive considering that the quantity of food was quite low in some of the dishes but we were overall happy with our meal.
Fantastic food, good service and comfortable setting. Calamari starter is definitely recommended for seafood lovers not too chewy and a very generous portion. Prawn cocktail was freshly made and also devoured in a matter of minutes! Potato and leek soup was flavorsome, but unfortunately served only tepid in temperature. Most of our party had the Sunday roast lunch, which was delicious, but we were all a little disappointed to hear the pork belly was sold out. The mini dessert set on the menu is a fantastic idea and it would be even better if the restaurant can include more choices on this. Overall a great experience :
Stayed at the Melville hotel beside the Melville inn and had food and drinks in the pub. The food was just perfect. Had the pie of the day (beef) with mash and veg and it was fantastic. Had breakfast, mainly poached eggs and beans on toast which was faultless. The staff are very welcoming. On an evening it is busy which is a good sign and the staff tend to your every need. At breakfast I saw a guy about my age (50) every day and he was fantastic. Couldn’t do enough to help and gave me some great advice for getting around the city on the bus. I will definitely be visiting here again next time I am in Edinburgh.
Really lovely service (Thanks Peter! . We went for vegan cooked breakfast and would recommend. The beetroot hash was really tasty, I've never had anything like that before. Oat milk was provided for teas/coffees on request. The staff were really friendly and service was quick. Quality touch on the drinks being complementary (due to us being in the hotel nextdoor I think .
