Baxter tavern - Langwarrin

The Baxter Tavern offers some of the best hotel meals around. The steak, chilli prawns, chicken and leek pie (just to mention a few) are sensational as well as reasonably priced. Great food, good service and warm open fires make it a great place for a meal on a cold winter's day.

This is our favourite place for our girls lunch. We discovered Baxter Tavern because its roughly midway between my home and that of the other ladies who live in Rosebud, Nyora and Narre Warren. We have been to Baxter Tavern several times and would highly recommend it, that's why we have kept returning a few times a year for the last 8 or so years.Love the atmosphere, everyone is so friendly, its sort of like the old fashioned pub. They have lots of open fires blazing away in the winter to keep everyone snuggly and warm while eating and a separate gaming area room where they supply free tea and coffee for those playing the pokies.The food is absolutely delicious, I have always enjoyed their food and never had need to complain. They do have large servings, often striving to get through it all and never left there hungry. Great variety of choices, they have different specials on different days.You select your own table, go to the counter to order and pay, tell then your table number from a stand at the table you have chosen and they bring your meal when ready. Service is usually reasonably fast and they clear the table quickly when you're finished leaving you to chat and take your time, no rush to get you leaving as they have plenty of tables throughout 2 areas.Not sure what it would like on say a Saturday night though as we've only been for lunch during the day, I assume pretty packed though as I'd expect it would be quite busy.Plenty of car parking, easy access and departure as its on the corner of Baxter-Tooradin Rd and Fultons Rd (which is the extension of McClelland Dr Frankston) and they have driveways on both roads.They also have a drive through bottle shop and accommodation but I've never used either of these services.

Been here for Family birthday meals. Great venue and lovely meals. The best salted squid I have ever had.

Living locally, I have now returned to eat at the Baxter Tavern multiple times and it has always been very enjoyable. The food is very good and when I leave, I feel satisfied and happy. The atmosphere is just lovely with the open fires in winter. I recently took my daughter there for a celebratory lunch and the tucker was as good as always. The food is enjoyable, the prices are attractive and the ambience is pleasant and relaxing. Yes - I enjoy my visits and will continue to do so.

Went there tonight 11/7, ordered the lamb and got Raw lamb with Zucchini and potato and pumpkin. Lamb was that raw the knife supplied would not cut it, and half way through eating the vegetables, copious amounts of gravy they supplied ( to cover the raw meat?) had turned red because of blood. Used to be a regular diner there but went elsewhere, now I recall why!Will not be going back
