Merchants 1688 - Lancaster

This has always been a great spot for food, and after coming back to visit a few years later, I'm glad to see it's still just as quality as I remember. Had a fantastic meal here the other night, strongly recommended to anyone after good food in a great pub.

A bit disappointingly bang average. We went there for wine on a Saturday night and the wine selection was pretty boring (at least the options by the glass) so we had a French 75 cocktail which wasn’t good. The music was pop songs from 2000s which was an odd choice. Nice to be under the arches though.

Please like if helpful Interesting old pub with the building dating all the way back to 1688 with vaulted cellars for dining. Great service and really good fish and chips although a bit on the expensive side at £14 there is a cheaper lunch menu but but all day. Very close to Lancaster castle.

Absolutely love this place, very cozy inside, the food is amazing the staff were excellent I had the pink roast beef on ciabatta with chips my wife had the fish chips with peas, both meals were excellent I would highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning find here is!! So unique and incredibly warm atmosphere. Tunneled style rooms, nice range of drinks to have and wonderful welcoming staff. Loved having a drink in here on my day out.
