Atkinsons Fish Chips - Lancaster

Myself and my husband visited Atkinsons on Saturday evening as a treat as we had really enjoyed it last time we decided to get fish and chips from here. The prices have gone up a little but it was still amazing food, the food was cooked to perfection. I’ve seen many reviews about the chips being refried but they were perfect when we had them. The only downside to this was the staff members that were serving the customers. There were 2 young men and one young lady who were working. It was clearly very busy but myself and my husband didn’t think they were being quick enough. It took around 5-10 minutes for us to even get served by one of the boys and even then, they didn’t look like they knew what they were doing. £20.60 for two fish and chips is a little extreme but the food was perfect and the fish was lovely. Will be coming back but hopefully staff members will be quicker next time.

Very disappointed. Worst chips ever. About three quarters of the portion was made up of tiny chips which were to crispy to be edible. The rest appeared to be made up of a mixture of refried chips and small proportion of fresh chips. We went back to the shop with the evidence. We were offered a new portion of chips!!!!! But, NO refund. We wondered why there weren’t other customers there. Now we know! We won’t be going back. It used to be a good and reliable source of chips.

My husband purchased 3 lots of fish and chips costing nearly £30 last night. The fish was okay, but the chips were horrendous, they had a weird chemical taste, not sure if it is cleaning fluid related, but none of us risked eating them. Please do not risk buying your chips from here, as clearly there is something wrong. I have messaged them via Facebook messenger, but no reply! Never again!

Atkinson's has done it again with another excellent restaurant. The fish and chips are delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly. Be prepared for crowds, as this place is very popular.

Yesterday (18/1/2023), I ordered food from Atkinsons located beside Sainsbury's and I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. The only minor inconvenience was that they only had haddock and no cod available, but this was not a big issue for us as my husband and I enjoy both types of fish. The location of the restaurant is decent, with some parking space available, although this didn't matter to us as we enjoy walking. The staff members were all friendly and seemed to work well together. I was served by a polite young girl who took our order accurately and promptly. The fish was being prepared fresh by another staff member in the back. Despite the busy atmosphere in the restaurant, everything was organized and clean. We ordered two fish and chips which cost almost £20, but it was worth it as the food was delicious and freshly made. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning soon.
