Bidrage med feedbackMy visit was on Good Friday, so the large shop windows were crammed with breads and pastries that looked jaw-droppingly delicious!
Pastelaria da Se is a smart cafe and cake shop in the attractive square at the foot of the famous stairway up to Lamegas’s most celebrated church. In addition to good coffee and excellent cakes, this is a good place to sample various Bola de Lamego. Normally a bola in Portugal is a filled round donut, but these in Lamego are sort of savoury bread squares filled with bacalhau, meat etc. We had a bacalhau one and it was very nice indeed.
Really nice place for quick breakfast in the main square right by the famous stairs. Nice gentleman inside working spoke good English. He understood exactly what we wanted. Very nice inside, clean, lots to choose from. Pastries, coffee etc. We sat outside, on a Saturday morning was nice and quiet.
Stopped here after descending the steps from Our Lady's church so the coffee was very welcoming. Recommend you sit in the avenue space rather than the cafe itself. The range of cakes was fantastic and judging by the trade with locals, this is on e to recommend about the many enroute.
Great pastries, coffee, cakes and ice creams. Service friendly and the variety does not make it easy for you to choose.
