The Tommyfield - Lambeth

A fantastic boutique hotel above the Tommyfield Pub in Kennington. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated warm and spotless and the food in the bar is superb. A discount for residents also helps. Near tube station and easy to get on District line to all the attractions although it is literally next door to my London office. I’ve already planned my next 3 next business trips to London here. What more can be said!

This place is seriously understaffed and the staff that are there are rude. If you want a nice evening out, find somewhere that values your custom. I hope the kitchen staff are better than the waiters otherwise I really fear for the quality.

Two of our group who had the same order became extremely ill that night vomiting et al and couldn’t go to work the next day, let alone hardly look after our two year old daughter. We called the Tommyfield to explain but was met with dismissal told we would be called back but weren’t. Having eaten here on and off for 10 years; we will no longer be coming nor recommending it. There are MUCH better pubs with food that doesn’t make you ill in 5minutes or every direction

The food was great, we had the 3 course Christmas menu and every course was delicious and good size portions. The pub itself is really nice and well located. We had a couple of issues with the bill, on the Christmas menu it says you get 25% off in the week for bookings between 12 6pm, so we booked for 6pm and asked for the Christmas menu. A member of staff rang me and confirmed that they would do the 25% off, then when we got there they said that they couldn't do it as we didn't put our orders in before 6. We wouldn't have minded if we weren't told before that we could get it, so that did add £27 to our bill. We the ordered 2 bottles of the house white which is advertised as £20 on the menu, but when we checked our bill they had charged us for 2 bottles of £28 wine because the were out of house wine, but no one told us this. They did give us a partial discount when we said, but I think in general they need to go out what is on the menu, as that's a big reason why we booked.

Came for our Xmas meal, highly recommend lovely and great value food but made even better by the brilliant service. We had a baby in the group and staff offered many adjustments to make sure they were happy and comfortable. Thanks so much for making it such an enjoyable and comfortable day!
