Darjeeling - Lambeth

This is our favorite spot for Indian takeout. It's affordable compared to other places in London, but the quality is top-notch and authentic. They offer a wide variety of dishes and the delivery service is usually quick. We have never been disappointed with any dish we've tried, and everything always arrives piping hot.

We visited Darjeeling on a Friday in October and were impressed with the quick service and reasonable prices. The restaurant can accommodate large groups, as we saw a big party seated at a long table. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it's a popular spot among locals. The menu offers great options for those on a budget, but it would be nice to see a wider selection of vegetarian main dishes. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant!

My husband and I have been living in London for five months, in the area of Blackheath. Just nearby in Lewisham is The Darjeeling restaurant. Despite the abundance of Indian restaurants in the city, The Darj serves some of the most delicious Indian food I have ever tasted. Every dish we have tried has been exceptional, from the appetizers (I particularly enjoy the Dahl soup) to the curries, mains, and side dishes. My husband usually opts for the Chicken Tikka Masala or vegetable biryani, while I go for the Saag Paneer or a curry dish. As it is a favorite spot of our local friends, we frequent The Darjeeling often. The atmosphere is cozy, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant!
