Bidrage med feedbackI have visited this restaurant several times for events and other occasions, expecting that its prime location and reputation would ensure a good dining experience and proper service. Unfortunately, my expectations have been consistently disappointed. Customers often have to wait in line to place their orders, while some of the staff seem more focused on chatting and polishing glasses. To make matters worse, mice have been spotted running around the seating area in the evenings, with little reaction from the indifferent staff when notified. It is clear that the management needs to improve both the hygiene standards and the professionalism of the staff, or risk tarnishing the reputation of this cultural institution.
The experience at this restaurant was terrible from beginning to end. We arrived before 6 pm and the bar had already run out of the cheapest bottle of white wine. The barman was more interested in chatting with other customers than serving us. When another customer arrived and we tried to get his attention, he pretended not to notice us. The server later came to our table but was very miserable, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Despite being a party of 5, we continued to order white wine throughout the evening. When I went back to the bar to order another bottle, the server initially refused, but the bar manager eventually allowed it. It was frustrating to have to pay for a more expensive bottle because they hadn't restocked the cheaper wine. Overall, the service was unsatisfactory and the staff seemed unhappy to be there.
I had originally planned to dine at the NT, but ended up at BFI instead. It was a pleasant surprise that the BFI welcomed walk-ins to their busy restaurant, especially considering the NT wouldn't even accommodate me in their deserted one. I enjoyed a delicious pre-show meal in a bustling yet enjoyable atmosphere, with a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. The service was excellent despite the restaurant being busy, and I would definitely dine there again.
Hot day on the Southbank we visited this venue for lunch and shade! Great welcome from team service quick and efficient food was really good. Great spot to people watch and lovely views of river and historic buildings .Will return.
Popped in for a visit just for coffee. Good quality, decent strength Americano. Friendly, accommodating barista. Interesting to see that they’ve created a balcony bar (which sadly wasn’t open) , but which looked like a new addition since my last visit.
