Bidrage med feedbackWe were staying at Burleigh Falls Inn for a girls weekend in May of 2017. When we were there the Grill, the restaurant at the Inn didn't serve breakfast so we went looking for another place to eat. After asking some locals they recommended Young's Point Diner which was just down the road from Burleigh Falls. The restaurant was clean and bright, with local artwork decorating the walls. The food was hearty breakfast fare and the service was excellent. They have some great pies and pastries but we resisted temptation. The waitress also told us about the nightly entertainment but we never did make it back. All in all a nice country diner which I would recommend if you are travelling that part of the Kawarthas.
We ordered 6 different pizzas and received them delivered hot with perfect crispy crust and above average ingredients. The best , I thought was their own sausage and pepper recipe . For the rest, we chose our own toppings. They even made a Vegan pizza for us, very flavourful even without cheese. This beats Pizzahut by a mile! We will be ordering here from now on.
Out for a drive with friends 15 minutes from Peterborough and 7 minutes from Lakefield at Young's Point, we stopped here for dinner. We had heard the restaurant had recently opened and on first sight, the restaurant looked a little unprepossessing. My wife had the homemade borscht soup and three of us shared a large pizza, with our other friend having a chicken dish. The food was superb. My wife loved the soup, the pizza was the best we have had in the Peterborough area, really, really good. One of our friends had a salad too which she said was excellent. The restaurant bakes its' own pies and rolls and we tried a pumpkin pie and an apple pie. They were fantastic. They offer a good selection of Australian and New Zealand wines which made me very happy! Our bill including a tip was around $120 for four people (including two half liters of wine) which was a deal as far as I am concerned. We were all really impressed with this restaurant. We met one of the owners, Janice and she looked after us very well. Looking forward to going back soon.
The staff was nice and friendly but it's definitely not like Granny's used to be. I found the food good but expensive for what you got. I think a hamburger was $12 and that was without French fries. My hot beef or was it turkey I've forgotten now had one piece of bread and two small pieces of meat with gravy. I miss Granny's half a sandwich with soup or salad. Not sure if we'll be back and we used to eat there every few weeks.
Perhaps the title is a little misleading. we were the only patrons in the restaurant (perhaps that was not a good sign.) At the time, we were both very hungry
