Bidrage med feedbackThere are times when you want a gourmet experience, with fresh ingredients lovingly crafted into delectable taste sensations... Then there are times you need to satisfy your hunger with a big greasy delicious burger and crispy golden fries served from a drive-thru window... But... For those other times... For all the times you want soggy fries, over cooked pasta, fruit flavored teas that taste like nothing so much as a chemical sweetener, dried out chicken, and over salted meat, for those times my friends, that is when Chili 's truly shines. I was meeting a friend for dinner and as neither of us had been to Chili 's in awhile we decided to try it out. The discolored mud mold on the lighted sign out front should have been a warning, but nope, we went in anyway... After beverages and small talk, he had the bottomless chips and salsa, followed by a burger and fries. I had the cheese fries and Cajun chicken pasta. Neither of us enjoyed our meals, half of the food was still on the plate when we left. Thank goodness for camaraderie and good conversation because nothing else at the table was worth the time it would take to review it. Lackluster food provided by uncaring servers, overpriced food and watered down drinks, no decor, and the depersonalization of customer service through tabletop gizmos, yes Chili 's has finally, completely, irrevocably jumped the shark and there is no saving it at this point.
I love the egg rolls and the food seems consistent, It has a lively atmosphere but you can still hav a conversation. You are always greeted with a smile and introduction. Southwestern Eggrolls one of my favorites.
Loyalty pays. Join the Chili's Rewards Club to get free offers. Usually it's chips salsa, but other offers arrive to my inbox regularly. The birthday free dessert deal (no strings attached! was too good to pass up, so we headed to the local Chili's for some grub and dessert. Our waiter, Jason, was great. He stated that he loved his job and his hustle demonstrated this. He took the time to answer our questions, and we appreciated his subtle sense of humor. We split the Triple Dipper appetizer, which features a choice of 3 separate apps from a list of several offerings. We selected: 1 Burger bites, which included plenty of bacon pieces and a tasty roll, but the burgers were a bit overcooked and the ratio of bun to beef was too high. Maybe the regular sized burgers would be better than the small bites. 2 Regular chicken strips (spicy and crispy options were also available , which were dry and fairly bland. Good thing we had opted for BBQ sauce to improve the taste and infuse a little moisture into the item. 3 Southwestern eggrolls, which were essentially spicy chicken wraps with black beans, corn and cheese. These had a nice kick, as expected from Chili's, and were the best of the 3 appetizers. I selected salsa as the dipper and it paired nicely with the eggrolls. I'd get these again as a full app order. We indulged in the molten chocolate cake for dessert. It includes a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a warm, gooey chocolate cake with hot fudge and caramel sauces. OMG! For chocolate lovers, this is simply one of the best desserts around. Seriously! I was tempted to lick the plate clean and then order another one. (Ok, maybe next time Chili's offers an extensive menu, and their 3 for $10.99 is a great deal (soft drink, appetizer and entree . Covid accommodations: When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't too busy so socially distanced seating wasn't an issue. The place does get full though, so people who are not comfortable with indoor dining should definitely order take-out instead. Although the staff were all wearing masks, I noticed the masks were not consistently remaining in place. Overall, Chili's offered a good experience with decent food and fabulous dessert. Come for the spicy food... stay for the dessert!
