Bidrage med feedbackWalliser Stube provides fine dining entrenched in the historic Swiss mountaineer past of the Rocky Mountains! Where to begin, staff were happy to move me to the library where I enjoyed the best view over my meal! For my birthday, staff went out of their way to celebrate the moment. While all dishes are likely fantastic, I recommend embracing the traditional dishes the käsespätzle is unbelievable as well as the specialty chocolate fondue with perfect financiers and home made marshmallows!! If you are limited, go for a cocktail and chocolate fondue, in the future I'd love to try the cheese fondue as I can only imagine : This is the Rocky Mountaim culture I came for thank you Walliser Stube for your incredible hospitality, world class!!
This is THE MUST do at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The Chateau Experience was the best meal of a lifetime. We booked early (opening at 5:30) to ensure we had the best table in the house. The meal and the staff outshined the view. Asher was our waiter. He recommended the wine pairing that went with the meal. It was incredible. If we had eaten here the first night we would never have sinned in any of the other Restaurants here. Again. Asher. Fir waiter. Arrive early and enjoy!!
This was one of our favourite meals on the trip. Service was amazing. Asher our waiter was excellent. Pretzel bread with whipped butter (save some to dip in the fondue). We got the half fondue and it was plenty for two people to share. The schnitzel was super crispy and huge. Halibut was cooked with a nice crust but a little small on the sides. The chocolate fondue for dessert was amazing and the home made marshmallows was my favourite part. It was expensive but worth the experience and the view of the lake.
Came on a Thursday evening around 6pm in April (non peak szn) and they do not take reservations unless you are staying at the Fairmont. There were plenty of tables and we got seated by one of the large windows facing the mountain (we were lucky and also it was quiet in general). I could imagine this place gets quite a bit busier during peak szn. Definitely get the Prix fix menu if you 're coming with 2 people and want to eat their cheese fondue. I saw a table order the meat fondue and it looked ok, but definitely not as good as the cheese fondue that came with the fixed menu. And the cheese fondue 'main ' didn 't seem like a worthwhile endeavour. For 2 with the fixed menu, you share one pot of fondue and it is more than enough! The fondue cheese base is the same regardless of which option you choose, and the only diff is the garnish... So if you choose the truffle one, you 're paying a few more bucks for some truffle shavings. The server was really nice and gave us a few extra pretzel rolls as she recommended we dip it in the cheese. She was spot on. Dipping the chunky pretzel rolls in the cheese was decadent heaven! After finishing the fondue, wife and I were already quite full! The tenderloin steak that was served afterwards was perfectly cooked to our liking and very well flavoured. The nice part was they also give a large bowl of vegetables to share. A very nice touch to keep things a little healthier! Lastly, we got the chocolate fondue for dessert (1 to share between 2 pple). We got the dark chocolate as we figured what you dip will already be sweet. We were spot on. They gave a few small cakes, some strawberries, and my wife 's fav, a few pieces of homemade marshmallows. Overall, everything was lots of fun, delicious, and enjoyable! I think the fixed menu was about $95 per person, but I felt it was worth it given how much food you get and what a nice experience it is. Cheers.
We were really lucky to get a table in front of the large window with a lakeview. Concierge helped make our dinner reservation when we checked-in. Our waiter provided excellent service. I’m not a connoisseur of German/Swiss dishes but I would say it’s the finest fondue and schnitzel that I’ve had in Canada. Overall, wonderful guest experience. I’m glad we tried Walliser Stube.
