Zum Gasthaus - Lake Jackson

Guest house in a strip room, parking directly in front. I was alone and the restaurant was empty and for an early lunch service. Jaeger carving and pomme. Delicious. Could have used more severity, but the mushrooms were well cooked. That's pretty good German fairy tale. Come back and see the beer and wine selection.

It was really good food, but the atmosphere has problems. Stunned, sweet and with things that have to be thrown away. The curtains over the front were closed and must be retracted to open the place up. Again, the food was very good.

The food was very good. The A/C system needs work, but I put it on the landlord. Building's okay. Service was fast! People were friendly, very helpful and efficient. The carving was very good. I enjoyed the roasted potatoes! We had dinner and my beef roll was excellent, my companion had the carving that was very tasty. I'd go back.

My husband and I recently ordered meals from Zum Gasthaus via Door Dash. The food is as fresh as in the restaurant. And, boy, oh boy, it's good! I love hunter scavengers, sour wort, lentil soup and potato salad! I would have had a picture with my post, but I would like the food before I even have a chance to take a picture of it. Try it. You won't regret it.

Had lunch there today and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the goulash and my husband had the beef roll. It came with red cabbage, noodles and gravy, peas, and pan fried potatoes. I substituted sauerkraut for the red cabbage, but the red cabbage was better then the kraut. The meat was super tender and the flavors were good. Peas were a bit bland but not bad. My daughter had the schnitzel from the kids menu and it was huge and very tasty. We had 2 German beers (Franziskaner Weizen and Oktoberfest Paulaner) and they were good. I'm from Germany and I tend to be critical of German food, but I was not disappointed here. We'll be back! Oh yeah, the young man that waited on us was very friendly and efficient. Thank you for a nice experience!
