Bidrage med feedbackThe Winzerhaus is a delightful German gasthaus! Wonderful food, not pretentious, and very warm and welcoming. With just three nights in Oberlahnstein and having eaten there the first night, we loved the food, service and atmosphere so much that we returned for our next two...nights. The schnitzels we had were all outstanding! If they have a venison stew, by all means, try it; it will be tasty and tender. The other customers were middle age and upwards in age; so if you are in your 20 's and looking for some action , go elsewhere. But if you want to experience a traditional German gasthaus with great food, this is the place to go! With the other customers enjoying themselves so much, you are bound to do the same!
My friend and I visited the nearby castle during the stay in Koblenz, and the host suggested to stop here to taste wines and get a dinner. We started with some wines (they were decent to our taste), then ordered cheese and grill plate for...2 for 30 some euros (in reality it was enough, 4 we two hardly managed to finish it). Meat was quite decent, especially for this price and size. We also enjoyed authentic cozy atmosphere and interior of this place. In any case, a visit for all meat wine lovers must pass by.
Winzerhaus is a typical german restaurant. If you go there, you meet many people from Lahnstein and the towns nearby. It is popular with the locals. Everybody is very friendly. You can sit inside and outside. Both is fine. You can get some typical dishes...from the region. The food is very good and the wine also. It is a very good price for everything. In many villages along the river Rhine, it is very expensive to drink a local wine, not so in the Winzerhaus. I like this restaurant and the cutlets you get in different kinds.
A good old typical German Gasthaus in the town of Lahnstein. We visited it on Saturday night, 10 Jan 2015 at 19:11. Actually we were a few minutes late for a reservation, I had made for 19:00, but our table was still waiting for us...when we arrived. We were immediate met at the door and directed to our table, in a friendly way. The food is typical German with large salads for the vegetarian or those on a diet. The bathrooms were clean, so the theory is, so is the kitchen. I had a schnitzel with salad and fries (but I was able to substituted spätzle noodles instead) and my partner had a large salad as her entree. The waitress was very pleasant and answered our questions and if she didn’t know an answer, she got the answer for us. She also understood my attempt to order my meal in German. The Menu was easy to read and understand. The waitress brought my salad, as should be, while we waited for the two main dishes. My food came hot and so did the meat strips on my partner’s salad. Everything was cooked right and served hot, as it should be. Prices are fair and the food was very good. Parking is always a problem in Germany, especially in the city and even though they don’t have a parking lot, there is parking available on the street. Overall, I was very pleased with my eating experience at the Winzerhaus.
We visited this restaurant immediately after they re-opened following their summer holidays and it was packed. Very popular with the local people. Very good Germans food and probably the best German wine in Lahnstein. Very generous potions. Booking is definitely recommended.
